Regular Doctor - Types of Tests

New to the Group and I do not post much. Trying to figure out which tests I can

get for my 9 year old through a regular doctor.

Possibly has a Yeast Issue based on symptoms.

Could be viral issue - any tests outside Great Plains, etc that a normal doctor

could do.

Many. Most actually.But in order for them to be useful, the results have to be interpreted correctly. If you get them done and your doctor just looks at them and says "Eh, looks fine to me" then it was a waste of your time.So how willing is your doctor? Some aren't even willing to pull the labs because they know they'll already look at them and say, "Eh, looks fine."

That depends on the doctor and his school of thought.Some people have been very fortunate to have doctors who understand this is a medical condtion.Others, not so much. Most doctors who practice traditional western medicine will not test for viral titers.All you can do is ask. If he/she says 'no', you have other options. We can help you explore those. and then there is the type of insurance you have...dont expect anything on mass health..most docters dont look kindly on mass health patients. at least in my experience with myself and when working on ambulance with other patients.

The last time I took my son to the doctor they tried to give him yet another vaccination. I inquired about it and the vaccination

was to protect people that

1. have anal sex

2. visit 3rd world countries

I went off on the doctor. My 9 year old doesn't even have those risks.

What kind of viral titers would I ask for?

BUT some of kids carry an ENORMOUS burden, OR titers show low until an anti-viral is started. @ Tammy,What you say is very true on educating ourselves about vaccines but if you decide not to vaccinate your child, would you be able to get him/her admitted to any school? Not to the best of my knowledge. My son (to the best of my knowledge) is high functioning autistic and he starts preschool tomorrow, before that he attended summer program and both the times we were asked if his vaccinations are complete as per the requirements.

@ Ken,The doc made 'very interesting' (i.e uneducated and IMHO, stupid) comment. I am very interested in knowing the name of that vaccine.

Some states allow it if a dr has written that shots would/could harm the child. We found some wonderful community homeschool groups, church classes, and a cottage school that does not require shots. My son has Aspergers and smaller group settings like I mentioned and perfect for him. Explore the alternatives. If there is a Veritas Classical School nearby, check them out. My children attend the local Veritas school.

No where in the United States does your child HAVETo have a vaccine to attend public school.The administrators just make you think you doYou have to go to Health & Human services inYour state and get an exemption, it doesn't evenHave to be religious it can be stated as just a conscientiousObjector.Sent from my iPhone

Most states have a vaccine waiver of some kind. www.vaclib.org for your states requirements.

Most states have a religious, medical, or personal choice waiver option. (One or any combination). I'm in RI. We have a medical or religious waiver. I simply signed the religious waiver and that's it. Look up your state. Don't let your doctor bully you into believing your kid can't go to school without shots. Like my son's pediatrician did. We were homeschooling anyhow so it didn't matter much what he said anyhow. There are many many tests that you can run. Missisippi and West Virginia only offer medical exemptions and they are hard to come by, and I believe New York and New Jersey are starting to be quite a pain in the butt about it.I'm in Florida, I just had to go to the health dept and sign a form that said I object for religious reasons (I did not have to mention which religion, but my reason for objecting is that many vaccines use aborted fetal tissue and since Florida does not allow me to pick and choose, I have to say I object to all of them... and now I feel more strongly about vaccines, but at the time I just did not want my kids to have Pertussis, MMR or Varicella)

Oh the form I was signing was acknowledging the fact that in case of epidemic, my kids may be asked to leave school.

Never give up. You will feel helpless, at a loss, tired, depressed, over

worked, not listened to, fighting up hill battles, but, it is in those times you

find your own divinity...if there is a God, and I'm not 100% sure there is, than

there is you than can carry those weak in spirit (and yes, you are strong

enough), and if there is a God, well, today you made him very proud. Hang in

there, they burned many people at the stake for being right and being

strong...and it takes generations to see the benefits you created.

We are from NY (Upstate, Albany area) (my brother (Autism-PDD-NOS) 27 years old)

has been doing biomed for a little over two years now, and he has come A LONG

way. I have been told by MANY (doctors, social workers, etc) that he will never

improve...WRONG! He has eye contact, he engages, he no longer has problems in

the sun or in loud environments, he has a JOB that pays! --- it's not over

until you are dead, and at that time you can relax. Life is not a spectator

sport, get in the game...can't do much when you are dead, so your opportunity is

now.

I feel pumped, I'm going to clean my garage! It's only supposed to be 93 today

here in Houston...

Yep, I felt defeated a couple weeks ago, my deepest pit. And yesterday we were seeing a new doctor, b/c I made the appt some time ago, and after the appt I felt, well, that was pointless, why are we seeing doctors, we are healing, we will do this, and screw doctors. LOL One extreme to the other...

Couldn't those aggressive behaviors be a sign that it's working? Could it be a yeast die off or a bacteria die off reaction.. where the child becomes violent/aggressive during the die off phase and then it gets much better after 5 -7 days? <font face="verdana" color="#7f3f00"></font> & nbsp;To: "mb12valtrex "

That doesn't mean things can't approve. My son is a brain swelling, regressive

kid who fell into catanonia post-NO.

You should see the picture. He is SO much better now, 3 years after starting

biomed (noticed some improvements in 2 days).
