The school tried a weighted vest on him and its like day and night difference in his sensory issues + hyperactivity. I would like to buy one for home use, anyone has idea where I could get one? We've had it for two years, and it still looks great. He doesn't need it nearly as much as he used to, but sometimes he will go get it and put it on. You could even go as simple as glue gun or get a ready made vest that you add curtain weights to. I think I spent ~25 for the vest and I dunno what for the fishing weights. I made it myselfon someone's suggestion here. I have seen as low as 50$ on sites, I would sell ours for less than this if you didn't want to makeyour own. I saw them mentioned in our Colorado online group. The first one, www.grandmalisa.com, makes weighted vests. The second one www.littlelotuschildren.etsy.com, makes other weighted items, but from having read her posts, it seems like she might be willing to make a vest, too. Still using the blanket after many years. DS outgrew the vest and I donated it to a school. It was adorable and you couldn't even tell it was " theraputic. " Sometimes he left the house in it and we realized later (since it was denim on the outside, it looked like regular clothes).
