Hello,My 3.5 year old has pretty good sensory issues and in recent past, it has gotten worse. The school tried a weighted vest on him and its like day and night difference in his sensory issues + hyperactivity. I would like to buy one for home use, anyone has idea where I could get one? Googling got me some results but all of them are a rip off (adults costs less than half of it)

Some of the ones I found--http://www.weightedvest.com/order.htmlhttp://www.saltoftheearthweightedgear.com/I-WEIGHTED-VESTS.html

http://www.quiltedillusions.net/store/WsDefault.asp?One=133http://www.hugsfirstkisseslater.com/products.html

Thanks in advance.Noel

We got a cool camouflage looking weighted vest from southpaw products a couple of years ago. You are able to adjust the weights: load. Good product.Hope this is helpful,Sent from my iPhone

My son has a vest from Calming Hugs. It is a Gap denim vest (probably a jacket with sleeves removed). We've had it for two years, and it still looks great. He doesn't need it nearly as much as he used to, but sometimes he will go get it and put it on.

I recommend googling for "DIY weighted vest". You could even go as simple as glue gun or get a ready made vest that you add curtain weights to. Good luck!Jean

Noel,I probably have one in my son's closet that we never decided to use and it's small now. I think I spent ~25 for the vest and I dunno what for the fishing weights. I made it myselfon someone's suggestion here.

I have seen as low as 50$ on sites, I would sell ours for less than this if you didn't want to makeyour own.

Here are two more websites to check out for weighted items.

They are both small Colorado businesses. I saw them mentioned in our Colorado

online group. The first one, www.grandmalisa.com, makes weighted vests. The

second one www.littlelotuschildren.etsy.com, makes other weighted items, but

from having read her posts, it seems like she might be willing to make a vest,

too.

We bought both a weighted vest and a weighted blanket from:

http://www.sensorycritters.com/about.html

They are easy to talk to and want to give you what you want. Still using the

blanket after many years. DS outgrew the vest and I donated it to a school. It

was adorable and you couldn't even tell it was " theraputic. " Sometimes he left

the house in it and we realized later (since it was denim on the outside, it

looked like regular clothes).

I would recommend them.
