I forgot to mention in my update that I am, with success, applying the "rule of three" I invented back when I was living in a dorm room, on the growing mountain of clutter etc around here (it seems warm weather/heat makes that grow too...). Or, rather, it's a slightly adjusted* version of the rule of three, since I now live in more than one room. Here goes:Every time I enter a room I do three things to de-clutter it. It needn't be big things, tiny things like "putting a read/old news paper in the paper bin" counts. Because what's a cluttered room really, but a mountain of tiny little things... I find that three is a quite ideal number: More than three and it gets too tiresome and time consuming to keep up with (you should be

able to do the required things on your way through a room on your way out, if not you'll skip it when you are pressed for time, and it will be downhill from there...). And with less that three you won't stay ahead of the rate of re-cluttering (depressing as that thought is...). After a couple of days of that, this place starts to shape up again.... love/Reb* Back in my college years, I could not do a "every time you enter a room"-scheme, as I was living in just one room (well, of course there was a few shared rooms, like the kitchen, laundry, etc. but I didn't want to spend my time and energy picking up after other sloppy students, I had enough to do cleaning up after myself...). Instead I did a "every time I want to go out to the balcony for a cigarette" (I smoked back then).

Good idea, Reb. I'm going to try that! SharonThis email is a natural hand made product. The slight variations in spelling and grammar enhance its individual character and beauty and in no way are to be considered flaws or defects.
