Guest guest
Hi , Thanks for the info. I guess it's like all the rest of it was for me, the waiting is the hard part. Now that I've started radiation I'm not as nervous about it as I was. I'm hoping I won't run into too much discomfort, but if i do I will especially remember the end part of your message; of it " healing to barely a whisper of a memory " . Thanks! Hope you are doing well. Cealy ssist@... wrote: Cealy, You're doing just fine in the e-mail department! Welcome by the way. Your radiation oncologist or his nurse(s) will be able to tell you what they recommend for their patients. We all have difference skin, which reacts differently to radiation as well. Remember: A sunburn is topical; radiation is from within. Even days after I finished my 33rd treatment, when I thought it couldn't get any deeper red, it has to take its course. As for vitamins or supplements, I would also check with your doctor. You don't want to cause further damage to your skin or " enhance " your burn by taking something you shouldn't. I know my radiation oncologist used to give me samples of Aquafor, a thick, clear ointment which I would put on after radiation when I got home. Again, everyone is different, Cealy. I had women I met in radiation who didn't get 2nd degree burns like I had to my underarm. We had the same treatment!!! It doesn't matter old or young, dark or light. The good news??? It heals, to barely a whisper of a memory. Best, " When you discover your mission, you will feel its demand. It will fill you with enthusiasm and a burning desire to get to work on it.
