Saw Palmetta helps too - take it daily

425mg = I take one a day = if my bladder is contrary I will do one twice a day God, grant me the strength of eagles wings, the faith and courage to fly to new heights, and the wisdom to rely on his spirit to carry me there.

To: MSersLife Sent: Fri, November 26, 2010 4:49:57 PMSubject: unable to empty bladder

When I saw my new doctor she changed my blood pressure med to one without a water pill component. Since then I have had several days where I can't seem to empty my bladder. Yesterday I had that feeling of not being able to empty my bladder. I drank several glasses of cranberry juice and now I feel better. I know some people say cranberry juice really doesn't help but it sure seems to for me. It's not a lack of fluid intake because I drink water all day long--glass after glass. Today my bladder feels much better but I can see I will have to watch this more closely. hugs

Sharon,

I am glad you feel better, but yes, you DO need to watch this closely.

I feel cranberry juice does good, and we believe that at the nursing home where I work as well, always have.

I have to admit I love it, but I never drink it. I'll have to get some in!

I take two cranberry pills at night and this has helped me with infections and bladder discomfort. Its just easiernfor me than drinking the juice although I like it. I have been using them for about a year. I had all of the bladder tests-yuck! Nothing wrong. My gp suggested the cranberry pills and they work great. If I have pain I just take them in the morning to and it works for me. Mine are natures sunshine brand and are cranberry and buchu. Not sure about the other ingredient but it works forMe. You can get them online from Nature's Sunshine or at a health food store that sells the brand.

Hmm.. I

couldn't/can't remember exactly what "thing" made me think or

know that I had a bladder infection coming on.. I just remember

"feeling" something.. and then of course I'd break out the

Cranberry Juice.. (even the mixtures like Cran-Grape and such..

but shot for plain Cranberry if it was on the store shelf)..

Maybe the feeling of being unable to empty my bladder was the

reason for breaking out the Cranberry Juice..

In any case, it always worked for me in the past.. This time I'm

not so sure it was the feeling of not emptying my bladder.. but

more my sitting at the computer, thinking I need to "retrain" my

bladder to be "held" longer (did I happen to say that I KNOW

cognitive dysfunction is also a part of MS.. just didn't realize

that getting "stupid" was a part of cognitive dysfunction..

LOL)..

I also remember the time when I would do as suggested, by

my MS mentor, and would massage my bladder to make sure

that it drained.. Unfortunately, I can't find my bladder to

massage it any more because of the rolls of "hangover" that I

have.. Haven't tried to massage while lying down.. usually have

no need to massage it while lying down, because it seems, that

the minute I do lay down and get comfortable.. I'll have to get

back up to "go" anyway..

But Cranberry works for me, as it does for you... so long as I

remember to drink it!
