Yams and 'taters.....Re: He's home

My favorite way to eat yams is to just put them on a baking sheet and bake for an hour. They are so, so good. I like them candied and stuff but the best to me is simply baked. The natural sweetness if really enough, isn't it?We are getting some really good spuds right now too. When they are on sale we get several bags and store them in a fiber barrel. So you make them like baked 'taters? I usually boil them them they are tender, then let them cool and slip the skin off. I have made them baked for dinner, better then a baked 'tater, and way better for you!

I did get a 10# bag of what they're calling "stuffers" from save-a-lot, they make the BEST bakers evah! I'm nuking them for about 15 mins (or till done) slice then open and toss in some butter and some velveeta then nuke them for another minute or so and they are SO yummy! They are actually creamy!

Quick and easy...I'd use sour cream on them but I am out, hence the cheese...

Rob didn't stay for dinner which is FINE by me. He will be over Sunday (his 45th birthday) and yes, I will make a cake. His sister made him one and it was horrible lol and he told me he was sure I could do better, so I will lol...she burned it, and made a layer cake so it is burned on the bottom AND in the middle...oopsie! Well, as they say, it's the thought that counts...they even brought me leftovers, because Robbin told them I was going to do mine on Sun...I corrected that, told Rob I would do it on Sun *if theirs was not going to leave time on either side* for Robbin to build up an appetite...in other words, if they were going to do theirs say, at 4 p.m, then mine would have had to be either really early or really late, but the timing did work so I'm making mine now...the house smells awesome..
