Guest guest
Welcome Diania - Nice to have you with us!! This is an exciting and scary time for you. I encourage you to get prepared as much as you can over the next 2 weeks. I will send some info. privately as it is very long that will educate you on some things. Whenever you are scared or whatever, feel free to jump in and share your feelings with us. Also, if you'd like an angel from the group, just ask, and someone usually volunteers. It helps if we know where you are located and where you're having surgery. Then sometimes we can find you someone close by. Take care. Jeanne in WI Age 39 - Dr. T. Guest guest
Diania & don't forget if you want an angel to ask for one. This person will check on you before, during and after your surgery and report back to the group. Debbie

Guest guest
Normally if you find a lump you start with a mammogram and possibly an ultrasound. Then they will probably do a surgical biopsy and after that a lumpectomy or mastectomy. Treatments can range from chemo and radiation. To possibly just chemo or just radiation. I do not suggest you try an of these so called " miracle cures " that are advertised. I personally do not suggest going alternative treatments alone. I had 3 friends that did that and they all died. Sometimes you can add alternative treatments in with chemo or radiation but it HAS to be with the doctors permission ONLY. Some of them counteract chemo. I will keep your Mother in my prayers. Guest guest
Hi Son Anoop, breastcancer.org is a very good site that explains the diagonsis & treatment options in a clear way. The first thing your mom needs to do is see her doctor and get a mammogram. take care, anoop_philips wrote on 12/18/2006, 10:59 AM: > I'm a new member, this is regarding my mom, the last month she found > a lump on her breast, and we are not sure what to do where to start. > I'm from India, would like to know the different types of treatments > both surgical & non surgical, Plz need help > > Thanks & regards, > Son > Anoop > >
Guest guest
Hi Anoop, Your mother is having a lump and that says nothing .. because most of lumps are benial and can be ignored. You cannot say it is Breast Cancer until she is diagnosed with it. Being an Indian and having lived in Bangalore for almsot 25 yrs I can tell you where to go and what to do. I am a ten year survivor and that means BC can be overpowered .. You can take her to BIO (Bangalore Institute of oncology), Kidwai or any general hospital to get a Mammogram taken. You need to wait for results to decide the next step. If you need further Info you can e-mail me anytime. > > I'm a new member, this is regarding my mom, the last month she found > a lump on her breast, and we are not sure what to do where to start. > I'm from India, would like to know the different types of treatments > both surgical & non surgical, Plz need help > > Thanks & regards, > Son > Anoop >
Guest guest
Hi Anoop, My name is Sophia. Iam from India and now settled in Dubai. Pls. get her checked by a surgeon immediately. A surgeon could best identify if the lump is just normal or malignant. All lumps need'nt be cancerous. Pls. keep me posted. My mom had BC last March 06 and now she completed her treatment. Pls. contact further if you need more details.
