Guest guest
East braces for more nasty weather after tornadoes ATLANTA – The East Coast is preparing for more severe weather as heavy rain, thunderstorms and strong winds push through the region. Tornado watches are posted Wednesday for the Virginias and officials in Washington, D.C., were giving out sandbags to residents to protect homes from flooding. The system is forecast to head toward the Northeast and colder air on the western side of the storm is expected to change the rain into snow. On Tuesday, a possible tornado tore through the north Georgia town of Buford, damaging at least 56 homes and toppling trees. In Tennessee, a rock slide followed two inches of rain and part of a highway between Knoxville and the airport was blocked. Earlier, the storm brought suspected tornadoes to Louisiana and Mississippi, where more than a dozen people were injured.
Guest guest
It absolutely deluged this area yesterday, and most of the night... Lot of flooded basements.. and of course, as usual the Mon Wharf in Pittsburgh is closed (but it's always closed with heavy rains).. I guess when Earl was up at six this morning.. he claims he saw sleet.. and there is enough snow out there now, that I can see white through my kitchen window... And Mr. Squirrel must have dug into the roof space, cause I hear him stirring around in the kitchen ceiling this morning.. Just hope he's not chewing and that it's his nails I hear digging around for his hidden stash of peanuts.. But then again.. the GSF (is that what that little breaker thing in electrical outlets in water prone areas called?) popped last night, and refuses to re-set.. hopefully it was just the switch itself that went bad.. and I won't be spending $30 or more to find out it's not the switch.. grrr.. Why oh why didn't I fall for an electrician?
