DeeWhen were you diagnosed? Just curious. hugs SharonThis email is a natural hand made product. Like the short bald man thing! No, my thyroid is okay and I am sort of boderline diabetic (I'm like borderline borderline). As for the Avonex, I was off of it between 2005 and 2007 with no flares. In January 2007 I did have a flare, but this was right after my father died and during the funeral arrangements, so it was sort of understandable. I got back on it as soon as I could. And yes, we have AC!! I could not live here without it, that's why we left right after Hurricane Katrina, we couldn't get gas for the generator to run the window AC. Our house was fine (more or less), but I wouldn't have been for long. So when hubby said "let's go see your dad" I was in the car in a flash! Oh, and we're about 3 hours northwest of Birmingham.Dee>> Dee> > I SO understand about the hair loss. Two questions: have you had your thyroid checked and do you have diabetes? For me my hair loss was a combination of hormone stuff due to age and a low thyroid. Even though I am on thyroid meds now it didn't completely reverse the hair loss. I have thinning though... not bald patches. My sister-in-law suddenly had a bald patch on the back of her head. She went to a doc who gave her shots right into the bald spot and it did reverse it. I don't know that diabetes causes hair loss but it happened to a friend of mine when she was just dxed with diabetes. When my hair loss was at it's worst I used to joke that someday my kids would say "that short, fat, bald guy over there is my mother." lol > How are you doing on Avonex? I was on it for 5 years and did real good. But then I got a wild idea

and decided to stop it. I felt real good for about a year but then had a relapse that lasted years. In retrospect, stopping Avonex was a mistake:)> > Are you near Birmingham? I know some people who live near there in Anniston. Stay inside and stay cool. Do you have AC?> > big hugs> > > Sharon------------------------------------
