Wes,

My departed Wife use to tell my Sons " you'll be a man when I tell you you're a

man " so to paraphrase her you'll no longer be a Rookie when the List tells

you're no longer a Rookie.

I hope to be able to say the same thing after the 10th, only as a medic.

Congrats to you.

Congratulation ,

Welcome to what I consider the world's greatest and most rewarding

profession. It's always nice to hear the enthusiasm " rookies " bring to the EMS

profession because it take me back a few years and remind me why I made EMS my

career. I hope you find your years in EMS will be as rewarding as I have found

mine, and thanks for reminding me of what I felt when I received my EMT-B

certification.

Welcome to the Texas EMS family, and I'll make sure you receive your State

Certification ASAP.

allow me to add my congratulations to those that everyone else has

offered you. You are a member of a very select group of people who like consider

themselves family. So congratultions and welcome to the EMS family!

Do you want to talk to the Paramedic in charge or the EMT who knows what & #39;s

going on?

I could not resist making a comment:

, not only do I mirror Maxie's comments, I also challenge you

that Texas is the only state in the union, that the State EMS director

would take the time to make a personal comment to you. Once again, not

only is EMS one of the best careers you could have chosen, but Texas

EMS is the best in the nation.

Congrats to you and welcome we are all very proud if you

Wes, how long do you have to be certified/licensed to not be a rookie?

, Certified 21years, does that qualify for dino status?

If you ever go to another state you'll see just how great and advanced Texas

EMS is. The idea that the head of the Arizona EMS system would ever read a

list populated by " mere medics " and respond boggles the mind.

Be glad you work in Texas and be glad for a stand-up-guy like Maxie who " in

touch " and approachable.
