Donna, my cousin Betty and I share one illness in common--not RSD norFibromyalgia--and we really burn up those phones.Love to you and to your cousin,nTo: MSersLife Sent: Sat, December 4, 2010 1:44:33 PMSubject:

Fibromyalgia

There was a

discussion about Fibro not so long ago here in the group,

and I said that I was going to email my cousin about her

symptoms.

I spoke with my cousin (for hours today.. we do that when we

get on the phone).. but we spoke about her Fibro. She's been

diagnosed for years.

She doesn't have joint pain that can't be put down to some

arthritis that she has.. She knows which joints are

definitely arthritic and the pain in other joints that

haven't been diagnosed feel the same as those that do.

She's never fallen as a result of the Fibro either, never a

balance issue of any sort, or tripping or that kind of

thing.

She does (or did) have a lot of muscle and nerve pain from

Fibro though. Lyrica works for her much better than

Gabapentin, which is what is on her insurance formulary, so

she has to go jumping through all kinds of hoops to get

Lyrica approved for her.

We were getting to something about "trigger points" that

cause pain somewhere, and she was explaining some about the

requirements as to how many of them you have to have to

receive the diagnosis, and all the other "in depth" stuff..

When we killed the 2nd phone!..

We drained the battery in my cordless phone, so I switched

to corded, called her back and then we went on like two old

hens until we drained the battery in her cordless..

So I'm off to learn about trigger points and such..

Hope this helps.. and I KNOW that I KNOW which of us was

questioning the Fibro... and I might be awake.. but the

Provigil doesn't do squat to help me retrieve the name, that

I can see bouncing round in my head and then hiding behind

whichever brain warts happens to be screwing with my memory

right now.. <grin>

Hope this helps
