Guest guest
We had 6 1/2 inches of snow Fri/Sat. UGH! Now we are going to down to single digits with wind chills of 5 to 15 below. UGH UGH!! Then possibly a repeat of the same thing next weekend. Chuck is having a little trouble with his walking at times but not doing too bad. Still can't get his b/p to where it should be and can't get my blood glucose down to where the dr wants it. I have to call there this week. Guest guest
Then what about you, Ms Sharon? :PI've been busy with my studies. I started on a BSc in Computer Science through University of the People. I highly suggest this place if you want to study from home. They are a tuition-free university based in California. Still new, but they are seeking accreditation and so far, the experience has been positive. Their goal is to become accessible to everyone. http://uopeople.org www.laurabeaudin.com --NOT just another blog!http://practical-homeschooling.org It's time for an update from each of you! Guest guest
Things are quiet. Robbin (and my) favorite online game is coming out with a long awaited expansion, I already have it ordered (that will be his Yule gift, a little early but I won't make him wait for it) It should be arriving tomorrow (Tues), I ordered the box instead of just the download, since every one of the millions of players will be downloading it and the servers will be sluggish, this way we can just install it from the disc and be playing muahahahahaaaaaaaa. Rob pops in every so often, he took Robbin to town to the local parade on Sat, his sister was setting up to merchant her (awesome) line of hot sauces...they brought me back one of her habanero/chocolate bars...so good! You can only eat a little at a time, though, them's some hot tamales!! She has a website if anyone wants to check it out: http://katoproductions.com/ I use her sauces all the time...being family has it's perks, she gives then to me ~*~Hugs~*~ ~*~Akiba~*~ http://www.affiliates-natural-salt-lamps.com/pages/156.php -- Update time everyone! Guest guest
Shalonda (alright I think I finally got the font right.. LOL) I AM SOOOOOOOOOOO happy to hear that you got all moved.. Now, of course, I hope you get through the really difficult part without stressing out too much.. And I understand exactly what you mean about the people helping.. IF 's niece had not looked into one of the large green garbage bags, that were supposed to be for garbage.. My hand sewn Amish Quilt (excess of $400) would have gone out with the trash!.. One of the guys packed it.. couldn't find a box large enough, so figured the trash bag would do.. didn't tell anybody that it was the quilt specifically.. so the trash bag got picked up with the trash bags and was on it's way OUT.. LOL.. set the kitchen up to suit him.. and he's definitely got a "man's" organizational skills.. LOL.. Why on earth you would put something you use frequently, in the kitchen, in a hard to reach out of the way space.. I can't figure out.. but things seldom used were definitely within reach.. at least mine.. Guess he really wanted to keep me out of the kitchen.. Of course there's nothing really within my reach now.. I'm definitely not getting to the big bowls.. might find a plate or two within reach.. possibly a glass or a cup.. Silverware.. well. there is only one place to keep that.. (unless of course he figures out how to store it out of my reach.. LOL).... Skillets & pots.. well I might find one or two of them..never the size I'd need.. and lids for those would be probably on a shelf out in the laundry room to boot.. (and that room he's conveniently managed to make completely impassable for either of my chairs.. LOL.. so I'm NOT out there doing laundry.. Got to wonder sometimes if he's not trying to keep me so dependent on him that I can't get mad enough to 'roll' out (aka walk out) on him.. I do say that jokingly.. though I do sometimes get upset enough with him, cause I don't wanna be a nagger.. and sometimes he makes me become one... (like changing the oil in the car!).. I really couldn't do without him.. and lately he's been a tremendous tremendous amount of assistance to me.. He broke out the 3-in-1 potty chair (can't figure out what that third use is though).. and sat it beside the foot of the bed.. so that I could transfer to it, without having to try and get into the bathroom either by foot or rolling over dogs in the manual wheelchair (or their piles of blankets on the floor... oh they do have a foam mattress, covered with a sheet too for bedding on the floor.. just tons of blankets to keep warm as well.. spoiled mutts!).. But unfortunately.. my butt just knows the difference between a REAL toilet seat.. and some contraption made to resemble one.. and I just CAN'T use it.. he did get the second of the 3-in-1 set up.. over the toilet so I'd have hand rails.. I could pee.. but I couldn't seem to get anything else done (and peeing wasn't easy either).. must be something in the sub-brain-warted-brain that tells me that I'm going to miss or something.. and just won't relax those muscles.. LOL.. All joking aside.. though.. he's made my life, these past couple of weeks much easier for me, and would make it easier yet if I could only tell him how or what I need done.. (Except rearranging the kitchen cupboards, or clearing a path to the laundry room!) He's actually made it possible, if not a big pain in arse for himself, for me to actually get into the tub, and SITTING in the water, rather than using the seat itself.. He puts the transfer into the tub.. till I get transferred to wear I can then work my way down into the tub.. then gets the transfer thing out of the way.. he's even shaving my legs for me, when using the chair to shower, cause I couldn't keep my legs controlled enough to do the shaving for myself.. and all I need to do is see that gross stuff growing out.. and I want it GONE!!!.. LOL.. now it gets a little more difficult when it's time to get OUT of the tub.. I managed to pull myself up enough to be in a standing position.. and he's got to QUICKLY get that seat under me.. so that I can sit down.. BUT he manages to get a towel on the seat.. so I don't have to "stand" to dry my butt.. well at least not as long as it would take to dry my entire, size of Texas butt.. towel on the seat does most of that work.. then I stand for a second or two longer.. till he gets the thing pulled out enough that I can actually stay sitting until I'm ready to scoot on over and get the rest of me dried outside the tub.. Oh.. there's never a dull moment around this house.. at least not while he's at home.. LOL.. I am, again, SOOOOOOOOOO happy that you got all settled in and that the heat is working on a consistent basis.. cause it's colder than a umm.. well.. had to bring the brass monkeys in out of the yard yesterday!... There might be a frantic need to get out of the chaos..but I'm going to suggest, that you slow down just a bit.. or maybe.. for your health benefit.. use the fly lady system.. 15 minutes at work.. then take a break.. Cause her theory is Anyone can do anything for just 15 minutes.. 15 on, 15 off.. might be a good compromise to prevent a flare.. even 20 15 or something like that.. you do need to take a bit of time to relax and recoup after expending all the energy it's taking to get organized.. See.. I didn't ask to get slapped silly!.. LOL HUGS |)onna Hi fam!! I moved last monday!! yea.....i got fulltime heat!! Guest guest
I'm keeping this email, so that when the phones and relatives and all kinds of other people decide to finally leave me alone.. I WILL get a chance to check this out.. Even without accreditation the courses would be quite helpful in keeping the brain from turning into gray mush.. as well as being a glimpse into something that may or may not turn out to be interesting.. I'd love to get a BS in Criminal Justice - Cybercrime or Homeland Security type deal but would hate to pay for outlandishly expensive courses only to find out I don't like the field as much as I thought I would.. So I AM going to check this website out.. sooner than later I hope HUGS |)onna Then what about you, Ms Sharon? I've been busy with my studies.
