Day 41 Valtrex Update & Pain in hands & feet??

My 8 year old has been on Valtrex & Amphoceterin B since the end of July. During this time he has had pimple like rashes on his torso and groin area which has come and went. He has had low grade fevers which have also been intermittent. All the while he has made slow but steady gains. Last night he couldn't fall asleep which is very unusual for him so I suspected yeast. He kept telling me "my hands and feet are not happy". He repeatedly got out of bed and stood up, sat down and shook his hands. He has never been a "stimmy" kid other than visual stims. Anybody have any clue what would cause a child to have discomfort in their feet & hands. It really disturbed me to watch him not knowing how to help him. Is this viral die-off? Or just yeast that needs to be addressed? Thank you so much!

Hard to say what it is. Is it still happening?

Yes Cheryl it is. He has itchy " spots " creeping up again on his groin & trunk

too. As well as nasal drainage. I was wondering if this could be shingles or

Chicken pox? Is it possible that the Valtrex is bringing those out? Thank you.

For my son, this was a symptom of yeast after we started Valtrex he had pimples all over hit butt and was itchy. When he is on Valtrex he needs an anti-fungal as well.

Amp B is not effective as an antifungal while using Rx antivirals. You need a

systemic antifungal. I can't promise you that it's yeast but I can tell you that

more often than not, it is yeast.
