Guest guest
Would we call these symptoms vertigo, or something else? If I try to close my eyes while standing, I fall over. If I tilt my head back while standing, I fall over. Both come with a vague dizzy/vague nauseous feeling) If I look off a height (even in a movie or TV, can't deal with swooping airplanes, etc!) I feel like I'm falling, a weird dropping sensation in my stomach, VERY dizzy/nauseous/adrenaline rush.... On the other hand, getting on a ladder, climbing stairs, etc, don't bother me. ? Guest guest
Thanks, nne! It's not a new thing, it was just brought to mind the other night - we were watching " Bert the Conqueror " on the Travel Channel, and he was riding rides/jumping off!!!!! the tallest building in Las Vegas - I didn't know whether to throw up or faint... :-P in WY Practical Blackwork Designs " You get a wonderful view from the point of no return... Guest guest
Yep, I would call that vertigo. It comes in a variety of forms for different people. When I was going through dx I keep feeling like I was falling forward. When I lay down at night I can't get up within 10 minutes because I will have a 'swimming head' vertigo and won't be able to stand up. If the grandkids are running around in front of me I get dizzy and that makes me feel like such an old lady. lol big hugs SharonThis email is a natural hand made product. Guest guest
Moving my head fast makes me dizzy and nauseous, yeah - and looking at heights, even the movie thing, does make me feel like I'm falling forward (weird because when I actually fall over it's usually sideways!) I very seldom have trouble when I lie down, though, unless I get way way too tired or hot... Little darting kids and animals make me nervous because I really don't SEE them! :-) in WY Practical Blackwork Designs " You get a wonderful view from the point of no return... Guest guest
It certainly sounds like vertigo. I get these same sensations of movement and falling quite often while I am standing still or sitting still. Forget about closing my eyes and remain standing straight! The most disconcerting thing is I get it sometimes while I am sitting in my car - in park in the driveway or stopped at a red light - and it would feel like the car was moving on its own. I would step hard on the brakes, but then I'd realize that the car was not really moving - just everything else around me - even the trees and buildings - seemed to have shifted several feet all at once. Whomp! I am OK when I am really moving, but sitting or standing still, I get the sensation of movement. Scary. I don't know how to make this stop. It seems to help if I keep looking around keep my head and eyes active/moving around. If I keep my head and eyes immobile and focused forward for even 10 seconds, it seems the compass inside my head start to spin out of control. <sigh> -Sue > > Moving my head fast makes me dizzy and nauseous, yeah - and looking at > heights, even the movie thing, does make me feel like I'm falling forward > (weird because when I actually fall over it's usually sideways!) > I very seldom have trouble when I lie down, though, unless I get way way > too tired or hot... > > Little darting kids and animals make me nervous because I really don't SEE > them! :-) > > > > in WY > Practical Blackwork Designs > " You get a wonderful view from the point of no return... Guest guest
Yes, I get that “car is rolling” sensation now and then - gets me in trouble when I squeal at Himself at red lights! ;-) I'm getting to the point where I almost can't stand to ride in the car - EVERYTHING - oncoming traffic, stationary objects, everything - seems to be heading directly at my face. When we go in for the shopping or church, I have to ride with my eyes closed or with my head turned over my right shoulder so I'm looking where we been instead of where we're going, sigh. I really hate that, because it's making me reluctant to even leave the house and I KNOW that's not good! in WY Practical Blackwork Designs " You get a wonderful view from the point of no return...
