Guest guest
Hi All, I just came across a pair of documentary films that deal with personality disorders (specifically BPD as one of them) and a spiritual solution to the problem as it relates to Christianity. Both films can be seen at http://www.beyondmefilm.com
Guest guest
Just so you know, there is a specific WTO Group that is set up to discuss the issues related to having a bpd parent, from a Christian perspective. This particular WTO Group is about supporting members as they find their own path toward healing, peace, and a healthier way of handling having a bpd parent, whether that means initiating Low Contact with Boundaries, No Contact (temporarily or permanently), or just waiting and letting things be for the time being. There is no judgement here about a person's choice in the matter; no promoting that any solution is the ONLY way, the RIGHT way, or the BEST way to deal with the issue of being the adult child of a mentally ill parent. Its about sharing what has worked or is working for YOU, personally (or what has NOT worked for you) such as a particular type of talk therapy or drug therapy, or a non-traditional/herbal therapy (massage, EMDR, vitamins, etc.), a technique (like " Medium Chill " ) a philosophy, a religion, a book about bpd, a practice (yoga, exercise, meditation) life-style changes (moving far away from the bpd parents), legal procedures (restraining orders) etc., etc. But what works for one individual may not work for another, as each of our situations are unique, so we are about promoting tolerance and sharing our individual experiences with these things; that provides a lot of variety and food for thought. I hope you will share with us your own personal, individual situation, and how these particular films or the philosophy discussed in the films have worked for *you* to help you manage having a more workable, healthier, more manageable relationship with your bpd parent, or helped you choose to protect yourself /your family from further abuse by your bpd parent. Sharing your own personal experiences and insights are more relevant here than just posting a link to a site; doing that feels to me like you're here simply to promote the site instead of to interact with the Group. -Annie PS: The films seem to be more about reincarnation than Christianity, from what I can tell, which I find puzzling as reincarnation seems to me to be kind of the opposite of the one soul/one life/one-body-per-individual tenets of mainstream Christianity. I myself am an agnostic and I personally don't believe in reincarnation so I don't find it relevant to the issue of Cluster B pds. But if it has helped *you*, please share with us *how* it has helped you* with having a bpd parent. > > Hi All, > > I just came across a pair of documentary films that deal with personality disorders (specifically BPD as one of them) and a spiritual solution to the problem as it relates to Christianity. > > Both films can be seen at http://www.beyondmefilm.com > > >
