Guest guest
I am a daughter of dysfunctional parents: a Borderine mother and a father with a probably narcissisic personality disorder. I have struggled all my life with my relationship to them, and also have had periods where I chose to cut the contact. Now with my own children, I let them have somewhat contact with them. I have done a lot of inner work, but I really dont know if I will ever be " done " with that, after my upbringing. I still have lots to struggle with. I made myself a new nick and mail to use for this group - I really like my nick: - My Own Life
Guest guest
Welcome My Own Life Here Now. It seems that a lot of members here (and at other support groups for the adult children of the mentally ill) discover that when they have their own children, they get a new perspective on just how abusive or negligent or unempathetic their bpd parents are, and decide to protect their own child from that kind of treatment. So, you're not alone. Welcome to the Group. Great nickname, very empowering! MOLHN for short, perhaps? -Annie > > I am a daughter of dysfunctional parents: a Borderine mother and a father with a probably narcissisic personality disorder. > > I have struggled all my life with my relationship to them, and also have had periods where I chose to cut the contact. > > Now with my own children, I let them have somewhat contact with them. > > I have done a lot of inner work, but I really dont know if I will ever be " done " with that, after my upbringing. Guest guest
Hi & welcome! I started my journey in therapy almost 15 years ago--and I am still finding inner child work to do. I've decided it's a journey in itself. I look forward to hearing more about YOUR own life~nice choice in name!
