Cheryl,

I had the same exact concern and I brought it up with my dan and he said that

sometimes too much brain activity leaves permanent brain damage so it is a good

idea to use Intuniv. I still could not start it as I know that my son is very

sensitive even to simple supplements and he may not tolerate intuniv at all. Now

that I have confirmation of my suspicion about yeast(first oat few weeks ago was

completely normal- will not recommend metamatrix now), I would like to treat

yeast and see if that improves his symptoms. Thank you so much for your

response.

for him but I am skeptical as I was wondering is it a good idea to use something

like intuniv while his symptoms could be a result of bacterial/fungal

overgrowth? It is so frustrating to wait for the results and feel like I am not

doing anything for him for all these weeks. I am scared of trying neuroprotek

also as some kids get sleep disturbance and nightmares on it and my son is

already waking up around 4 or 5 am despite melatonin. Any suggestions?

Don't blame metametrix. Yeast tests are notoriously unreliable. DD or GPL could have the exact same results. I don't even bother testing specifically for it. It's better just to learn your child's symptoms of yeast. There's always at least one thing that is specific to yeast. In my son, it's hands and feet in the mouth. He starts sucking on his fingers and chewing his nails. There are other symptoms but those usually overlap other things. Night waking is also pretty much only yeast. Find your kids specific symptoms of yeast and you'll have a way more reliable gauge than any lab test.
