Gee, keep us posted on Kate. I hope to heck she is on the mend, and soon. Does she have fever, or just the bad stomach? Could it be some sort of food poisoning? I guess your grandkids don't go to school and have lunches there; they are all homeschooled, yes?I hope kitty does well, let us know.love you,KateTo: MSersLife Sent: Thu, December 9, 2010 2:41:32 PMSubject: adventures of barn kitties and in-charge dogs....and sick kids.........Re: kitty going to vet tomorrow÷ Wishing you all good luck

Chub Chub had a pretty bad night inside the house complete with lots of sorrowful yowling. He has no clue about the litter box, of course, so he made a bit of a mess in the bathroom. Lady, the dog that always thinks she is in charge, barked at the bathroom door and then would come and bark at me to wake me. Over and over. It was a looong night, let me tell you:) This morning (the 14 year old) went with her dad to drop Chub Chub off at the vet. Then Kate and dad went to Walmart and Kate suddenly got sick and threw up INSIDE Walmart 5 times! She even threw up on a display of movies for sale. She is still horribly ill and lying on the couch covered to the chin with a big comforter. What the heck happened to Kate? No one else

is sick except her. She hasn't been anywhere to pick up any germs so I don't know what is wrong with her. I went out a few minutes ago to feed and water the chickens and ducks. Kate is the one who normally takes care of the poultry. The birds were happy to see me I think. But who can tell? lolChub Chub should be home soon. My son and grandson went to pick him up. It's an hour drive each way. I will let you all know how Chub Chub likes his new improved self:)BTW, it only cost me a nickle to get him 'fixed'. The humane society was running a special 'Neuter for a Nickle" deal and I jumped on it. We wanted to get at least one other barn kittie neutered but they none of the others are tame enough. hugs SharonThis email is a natural hand made product. Teaching him to use a sand box of kitty litter box should be interesting. At least you will be able to feed the little feller after he has had his surgery!Love to you all, and to Chub Chub,nTo: Group <mserslife >Sent: Wed, December 8, 2010 7:34:03 PMSubject: kitty going to vet tomorrow

One of our barn cats is going to the vet's tomorrow to get neutered. He is a huge yellow kitty that my granddaughter calls "Chub Chub". He is about 4 or 5 years old and he is finally tame enough for the vet to handle. He is the tamest of the barn cats. He was brought into the house this afternoon so we can be sure he has no food or water after midnight. He freaked out really bad when put in a cage, beating his nose against the "bars" until his nose was dripping blood. Now he is in the bathroom, hiding under the counter. My granddaughter is fretting over him and is so worried about him. He will have to stay in the house for 4 days after the surgery so he doesn't injure himself. This is going to be interesting;)

got an update on Brownie - she got fixed on Monday - the incision is healing - it is disposable - she has to wear the collar when everyone is at work - she is a biter - dad is spoiling her - ham and eggs for breakfast and he personally opens her dog food at night - she already has separation anxiety - she is already a brat - she is doing everything she shouldn't

I sure hope Kate is feeling better today.. I can imagine her embarrassment at Wall-Mart as well.. not pleasant at any age.. but 14 would be even worse.. Wish our Humane Society would Neuter for a Nickel.. would be great.. unfortunately, when our local Humane Society gets something like that going.. you can't be sure of which vet is going to be doing the actual surgery.. and we've got a few in the area that just aren't that good.. Once more.. I sure do hope that Kate is feeling better, and that it was only a 24 (would prefer 12) hour bug that she shakes quickly.. And that nobody else comes down with it too..HUGS|)onna

Brownie already poops for something to do - this is making it worse

she is one of 3 minis and the 3 big dogs

spoiling her makes life very difficult God, grant me the strength of eagles wings, the faith and courage to fly to new heights, and the wisdom to rely on his spirit to carry me there.

To: MSersLife Sent: Fri, December 10, 2010 10:54:16 AMSubject: Re: adventures of barn kitties and in-charge dogs....and sick kids.........Re: kitty going to vet tomorrow÷ Wishing you all good luck

Those collars are the worse.. Babysat Earl's dog when she was spayed.. and she had a collar.. not a pleasant time.. And spoiling.. isn't that the purpose behind having pets or children?.. feeds the boys... (that was a habit that came about mostly to established the dominance and pecking order within the pack.. making the ALPHA in the house).. Now, they only cleaned up last night's meal, early this morning.. so didn't feed them before he left, asking me to do it for him later this morning.. I told him that I would.. just as soon as somebody asked for breakfast (oh, and these dogs do ask.. Zucco even goes so far as when, just emptying his bowl, will walk over to the cupboard where the cans are kept.. open the door and start poking around in there with his nose!).. Buster will ask, by sitting by my side.. looking at me and making his snorty noise.. then look away as if

to say.. "it wasn't me".. that gets my attention.. So we go through the routine questions.. "Outside?" (or some form thereof).. and he'll either hamrumpf his assent, or roll his eyes away as if to say.. Nope you didn't get the question right.. then on to the next question.. "Wanna eat?".. and then we'll go through the same thing.. The hamrumpf thing is for "Yes, Please".. and sometimes if it's in answer to the outside question... hamrumpf, stand up, walk in circle excitedly.. then sit back in original position and look..Zucco even has a game in the evening.. or at night.. (or during the day).. but he enjoys the game most in the evening when is home.. Zucoo will stand in front of me.. looking back and forth as if searching my face.. then will puppy bark and bounce on his front legs.. sit down and look at !.. then he'll look at me, then back to .. then may come over and bark at me one more time.. sit down and look at .. then look

at me.. he's waiting for me to verbally tell "Zucco has to go outside".. and we play this game EVERY evening.. several times a night.. Buster just sits sedately besides him.. and makes that little sniffy noise.. until pays attention to him.. Well, has learned.. that he WILL not be allowed to scold Zucco for any accident in the house.. Zucco does not have accidents.. he has lazy mommy or daddy, but not accidents.. he will come into the bedroom in the middle of the night.. if he thinks we're both asleep.. he'll go back out and wait for a bit.. then come back and make a small quiet bark.. and then sit and wait.. he'll even try two or three more times.. and IF I'm not able to get up and take care of him in a couple minutes... and I've poked to do it.. and ignores it (I found that if I tell him to lay still.. I'll get up and let them out.. moves faster.. LOL).. but if Zucco can't get anybody's attention and get them awake.. he

does sometimes have accidents.. which are NOT his fault... he waits until he can't wait any longer.. so there is NO scolding allowed in this house.. Just clean up the mess and keep your mouth shut.. or it won't be anybody ME doing the scolding.. LOLHUGS|)onna

when we had the ice storm I went out there for a week - the dogs are all energy hounds - being reiki - they always get it - without thinking everytime they did a no no I glared and said "nein" German for no and ack ack - everyone turned to - except for Brownie - when Mom and Grandma went into action peace reigned God, grant me the strength of eagles wings, the faith and courage to fly to new heights, and the wisdom to rely on his spirit to carry me there.

Spoiling them can make life difficult.. Buster, spoiled as he is, still knows his limitations and he definitely knows when mommy is mad at him (daddy can't get mad at him, at least not for long before he makes up, otherwise I've got a sick dog on my hands).. Me on the other hand.. he doesn't get sick when I scold him.. and he knows when I mean business.. He overstepped his bounds last night when Earl was playing with Zucco.. and he snapped, sort of.. well more like a warning shot to Zucco, and he does do that out of jealousy.. BUT.. the growl/snap/warning shot thing came to an abrupt halt when Mom spoke and pointed.. one saw one Butter Brown with what little tail he has between his legs, parking it on the floor in a sitting position in front of me.. Yeah.. a little difficult.. but he's not "just learning" he's been with us for 6 years now.. 1 of which was him alone before Zucco joined the

clan.. so then the correction "real" learning process began.. a bunch of work, difficult at times.. but both critters are now pretty well situated and know what the limits are.. Even when they are playing, and during those times you do hear growling, not the serious kind though.. but enough that got them warned "First one to say ouch, the other one is in trouble"... So now when there's and scuffling playing.. and one of them yips.. the other immediately sits down and tries to look all innocent.. LOL.. Never a dull moment.. thank goodness they like being couch taters with me.. LOLHUGS|)onna

Thanks for the update on Brownie. She is working her dad and has him wrapped around her little 'paw', doesn't she?
