Guest guest
Alow me to join with Thom in congratulating you And also welcoming you into our family. We are a twisted sort and like any other family can fight amongst ourselves but you wont find a stronger bond than what happens when someone on the outside try's cause a problem for one of us. In other words it is a family in the true sence of the word. I always tell people to listen to the old folks(like Thom)***boy am I gonna here about this one***. No but truly you will learn a lot from people who have been around for awhile. You are here and we don't know if to welcome you or show you some sympathy {8-) BUT what I can do is tell you There is no turning back now. Sounds like you have a lot of youthful vigor something that we all need a shot of once in a while. In any case good luck in your new career. It has been good to me for 23 years For what its worth Terrell EMT-P CC...,...,...,.,....( all the other things that still mean I am a paramedic)

Guest guest
, Congrats on your new certification and career. I remember how I felt when I earned my basic and sewed that patch on my shirt, (Wow that was a few years ago). Anyway It is a great feeling and that is something no one can take away. I have been working in this field for more than 15 years, not as much as some and more than others and I want to tell you this; never stop learning. When you graduate from any program and I think especially EMS programs, the learning has only begun. Talk with your partners about the calls, ask questions, watch and observe how they assess and treat patients (both good and not so good), and learn from them. When you start working on the ambulances it is amazing that yu will realize just how much you don't know and agan that's ok, That's why we " third ride " and are precepted; to learn how to apply this wonderful knowledge we have acquired in class to the streets. You will develop your own " style " of working and that's ok, it's good, however always remember to do what is in the best interest of your patient, within your scope of practice, training, and protocols. Ok so I may be rambling a little, it's the teacher in me. Once again, congrats and always remember to never stop learning. Anita LIndsay, BSHS, NREMTP/LP Take care and stay safe always. " Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed. " (Proverbs: 16:3) May God Smile on you today.
