Looking for a Neurologist in K.C. MO. area for IVIG

We're in Kansas City, MO. My son is 14 with PANDAS (our final hurdle) that is

mostly under control using 2 grams OLE/day and 920mg Oil of Oreg. 2xday. Flare

ups seem to happen only when he is exposed to strep. increasing Oil of Oreg,

Virastop and Candidase at that point, quickly relieves his symptoms. I want to

clear this for good before he's off to college in 4 years and am curios about

finding a practitioner near us who does IVIG treatments for PANDAS. Our DAN!

does not. We have not tried steroid burst or high dose antibiotics (I'm

terrified of what would happen with yeast!) Can anyone recommend a Dr.? We are

willing to travel. St.Louis, Chicago,Nebraska, Oklahoma would be easiest.

I am not sure if Baptist in the KC area does IVIG, but Christel on here has used him and he has treated her child or children for PANDAS. I am sorry if that who you are already seeing.

I wanted to add one more thing to my response. I read a news story about very

cheap airfares, as low as $19 one way, between Denver and Kansas City if you buy

your ticket soon. There is some sale going on with Frontier and Southwest.

We just moved from Denver area and heard absolutely wonderful things about Dr.

Melamed. Friends there called him their 'savior'. I do know that he works hard

to get the IVIG covered by insurance, and so it can take a while to get the

therapy going once you are in his care.

We only heard about him just before moving :(. Had an appointment scheduled,

ended up selling our house and the appointment fell on the day we drove to

Oregon.

Hi ,

I was just reading through old posts on virastop and saw this. did you find a

dr who does IVIG? I have heard that a neurologist, Dr. Sokol at Riley

Children's hospital in Indy is doing IVIG. Hope this helps.
