I've talked about these weird attacks I get from my fingertips up my arm to my cheek before. Is like an electric shock so to speak but without the pain from an electric shock, but there is pain. It is more of a discomforting pain most of the time and my arm and hand, although moveable, is useless. My hand, I can move my fingers, but I can't hold or grab anything as I really don't have control. The surface gets completely numb, but there is still feeling deeper inside? It is so hard to explain these episodes. Then, there is extreme tingling for hours afterwards, mostly in the hand, but it does extend all the way up my my arm. Usually I can't feel any tingling in the cheek though. I'm assuming there is a lesion in my neck causing this because if I look down just after these episodes, and for some time after

while the tingles are still there, boy does it send shocks and extreme tingling/burning/and some pain down that arm! I've called in about these episodes and am waiting to see my neuro on the 28th. I am wondering if ANYONE has experienced episodes like this at all? I have never heard of anyone posting anything like this. I used to have these when I was first dx'd and that's when they started the Neurontin. These were on my left arm. Well, now they are on my right arm and almost everyday! Just now, all I did was put my hair up and bam! I can wash my hair and again, bam! They are become almost debilitating!

I used to have them - I would get numb up to my face - wierd feeling - it is the nerve ending doing it - have you had the nerve testing to see how far the dead nerves go - make sure they use the teflon needles - you still flop around like a frog in biology class - but it isn't as painful as the other ones

Sorry to hear you are having trouble, Tammy. I have had a lot of strange MS symptoms, but not this one exactly.

Hi, Tammy:

You may be experiencing LHermitte's Sign. If I read your post correctly, it occurs usually if you bend your neck forward. And, that can trigger it. I've experienced it off and on over the years. I'm not aware of any treatment for it. It'll flare up and go away (eventually). Maybe neurontin will help some with the symptoms.

What does your doctor say? You have been to the doc, right? Do you have pain/discomfort around your elbows?
