yes, Mertz is March. Germans always put the date in front of the month...like today is 15 December instead of December 15th.

As always, I will make my grandmother's fudge and then whatever else strikes my fancy.When I was at Walmart yesterday we ran into a friend who is a teacher. She said "the kids are disintegrating --and so am I". She said they were ALL ready for a break. Fudge sounds yummy..

I am going to bake next week. My daughter will be home from college and she loves to bake. We will make Linzertort cookies, peppermint bark, pecan tarts and chocolate crinkles. Those are our usual... We are going to spend two or three days baking together. She also has to make a birthday cake for a neighbor turning 6. Hannah wants to be a pastry chef and she makes beautiful cakes.

OK...break over. Back to the wild kiddos...
