Thereis more to this than just diagnosing our MS; it matters towhat degree and where in our bodies the disease is affecting us. Also helps to rule out infections, such as Guillane-Barre virus, for example. O.K., so I am biased; I just love this article!Love to all of you, and to you, ,nTo: MSersLife Sent: Wed, December 15, 2010 12:30:57 PMSubject: RE: LPs......Re: New Just curious and asking while I remember - if there is already a Dx, what's the purpose of an LP? Guest guest
n, Thank you so very much for this... For the 10 years since my diagnosis, I've always questioned just why my SSD went through so easily, so quickly and without having to even finish that gazillion paged questionnaire... NOW I know the reason. My L.P. was performed my diagnosis, and I always thought that she wanted "all" the testing to do whatever it was that she was calculating (according to Dr. Zaretsky -- the good neurologist, as opposed to the guy who took over after she left their practice, otherwise known as the meuron) I was already progressive when I was diagnosed, and then medical history placed me as having already been dealing with the MonSter 10 years prior to my diagnosis.. Interesting, very interesting.. Now all I have to do is remember to ask my current neurologist IF he ever received my records from the meuron, and if he did, IF that L.P. was positive of the Oglio-stuffs.. and I wish my memory was better, though I have told to remind me when we next see the doc, in February.. Wonder if the nurse can answer that question before I see the doctor...
