Guest guest
Hi All,I had an appt with my neurodevelopment doc today.I was really angry and sad. Not sure if I justify it.This is a guy who gives you no direction except for ST/OT/ABA.I follow Dr.G's protocol and we discussed about meds and stuff. He tells me paxil is really bad ... those give suicidal thoughts blah blahand that his practice stops recommending it. He basically didn't tell us anything new. We even avoided his 6 montsappt and went after a year. May be he eas pissed about it.All he did was just write it what I told him in his book. That's it. He never gives any directions. ST/OT is something that I do even now.So , nothing new but a big waste of time. Pls let me know if you I am wrong or prejudiced thinking this way. He makes a couple of subtle sarcastics jokes here and there ... I was this close to saying lot of things but just waited it out. But hey who cares !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Guest guest
Neurologists are useless. I'm not sure what you were expecting from one. Remember, they pretty much don't believe in anything other than ST/OT/ABA. I'm surprised you even bother going. ~ Antiviral Therapy 101~~ Make a biomed book ~~ gryffinstail.wordpress.com ~~ @Gryffins_Tail ~ Hi All,I had an appt with my neurodevelopment doc today.I was really angry and sad. Guest guest
I don't think its of any use really if the guy thinks of making sarcastic remarks. Find another doc.How old is your kid? I learned recently that there is some program at Yale, that costs about $5K but they run a battery of tests over the period of 3 to 4 days and give you a comprehensive report on child's development (and LOT of other stuff), only requirement is, your child should be able to follow the majority of commands (to get you an accurate picture). May be you could look into that. If you are in CA or can travel there, look into Mind Institute.Noel Hi All,I had an appt with my neurodevelopment doc today.I was really angry and sad. Guest guest
I just got this info last week. I didn't search for this thing yet but will do it soon and post the link. Anyhow that was my plan to take opinions, if anyone here has done it.For Mind Institute, first link on google. If I know correctly, the Mind Institute director's son is autistic and he is a big proponent of autism. His only problem is, parents are interested in pursuing untested methodologies to treat autism but hardly anyone comes forward for a clinical trial. (Honestly, if I would be in CA, I would have enrolled all but one of his clinical trials, I even wrote them asking if they have centers in NY area or vicinity, no reply Noel Noel,Could I have the link to this ?
