And you have the right to say it because that is who you are. I have the

right to say a few hells and damns because that is who I am and of course Gene

God Bless his old cranky butt has the right to say what he wants because that is

who he is.

Remember each email is listed by who sends them. If you don't care to read what

this person sends then by all means hit the delete key.

Now lets talk about my generation being a bunch of crooks. I have been around

EMS as long as Gene. That is a pretty broad statement (butt) you have the right

to say it because that is who you are.

This list is not about political correctness. It is about folks saying what is

on there mind. Kinda like the old timers would say " I am talking to you " Be

careful how you take that. You could think that I am poking at you. However,

what is really meant by it is that I am telling you like it is.

That is what this list is all about, EMS people telling it like it is.

Hey Gene

If it matters, I know you meant no harm, you are still one of the most

important voices we hear.

It is proven by these responses that regardless of what each of us

feels, this is a hot button issue.

Henry I know your no crook, but from my days down in Matagorda County

we both know people who where and are.

hey Gene does mean anything to you. I found a lot of truth in this....

" Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional,

illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream

media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible

to pick up a turd by the clean end. "

Actually, it's " Wes's Jewish Pay-Up-Front, but For You a Deal, EMS. " ? (Feel free

to email me off-list for my complete collection of jokes about Jews and money.?

It's only $19.99 plus a small charge for shipping and handling.)

I'm offended.? Very offended.? So offended that I won't think for myself or

challenge what you say, but just resort to calling you a " racist, sexist,

anti-gay, right wing bigot. " ? After all, there's no better way to win an

argument that to go straight to the ad hominem attack.? It's worked so well for

the " professional victims " like Al Sharpton, , Gloria Allred and

Gloria Steinem.?? If we ever eliminated racism, sexism, and homophobia all of

the people who are professional victims would have to find a real job.

Most of y'all know that I'm pretty danged conservative, but I'm a downright

liberal when it comes to free speech.? I could care less if you're a Nazi, a

Klansman, or Larry Flynt, you have a right to spew your garbage.? You just don't

get a pass when there are consequences.? In other words, the Dixie Chicks can

hate the President, but those of us who listen to country music can feel free to

boycott their music too.

In short, you can call Gene a racist if you'd like, but remember two things. 1)

You're cheapening your own arguments when you fail to address Gene's comments on

their merits. 2) Racist or not (And Gene's not), you have no right to make

someone stop speaking just by exclaiming " racist " or some other accusation of

" ism " that you picked up in sensitivity training.? (Basically, the people who

teach sensitivity classes for your HR department do that because they are

incapable of doing anything more productive.)

And on the final free speech thought from me, I'll leave y'all to consider

Carlin's " Seven Words. "

I know you know. I think we have all made our points.

One of my early law mentors told me this: Never offer explanations. Your

friends don't need them, and your enemies won't believe them.

I think everybody knows what I meant.

Now let's concentrate our thoughts on County and hope that the good

people there will somehow have the kind of EMS service they deserve.

And always keep this in mind. Things could be worse: You could be in

Arizona.

Here is an idea, Dont wear your feelings on your shoulder people are gonna say

things you wont like, get over it and move on, its called life.  Many times I

have had patients call me mean and horrible names, oh it was terrible, boo hoo.

But guess what I got over it I didnt care and I continued on, I even treated

them with respect.  And I didnt tie up a group site with it.

Thanks love the info

Bram,

I just want to remind you of Gene's background. He was roaming the earth of EMS

since we were in diapers. He is a true blue person that has got the respect by

some of the biggest names in EMS. He has employed all ethnicity levels in his

different variety of jobs and I personally know of different ethnicity medics

that highly respect him. You are completely missing the point he is trying to

make. All of you that have bashed him are missing the point. He might not have

politically stated it the right way and you can be my guest on disagreeing with

him. Although, you have to understand that Gene has seen radical changes in EMS,

both good, bad, and between. He has taken many EMS company sides in different

situations. He has taught many different people and he has been a great help in

EMS today. I am just trying to tell you unless you have met Gene in person, and

understood the compassion he has for EMS then don't bash him. He is far from

racist and I will

back him to the end of the rope with that.
