Guest guest
It's company specific. I believe most 911 companys require EVOC, but some will send you through the course. I work transfer and EVOC is not required at all. > > i have a question if i was NOT taught EVOC in my ems school i went to does that have an effect on me getting hired somewhere or not cause i have applied places and no one has called me back yet i am wanting to work so bad so if you are hiring e mail me at > > emtjen1978@... > > > Setzer EMT-B > > > Setzer EMT-B > > > >
Guest guest
There are no " universal " answers to this question. I use to use a scoring system for applications. In that system some merit badge courses got you a point EVOC or any course with a " behind the wheel " aspect was 2 and a non behind the wheel was only 1. It really didn't matter as after hire you had to do my EVOC anyway. It was a way to cull applications based on " something " rather then nothing. Like most things in EMS it was based not on evidence or science but gut. LNM - Re: driving the ambulance It's company specific. Guest guest
Most EMS training facilities are not providing an EVOC class due to insurance and liability issues. Not having it should not disqualify you from being hired. Guest guest
Jennnifer Most of those types of class,s fall under the company's plan for what they want or what kind of agreement with thier insurance. It then ends up becoming an inhouse training or in our case we do at least the video segments as part of orientation although we are currently useing the CEVO program (which is basicly the same thing) Hope this helps and good luck finding a job I know you are pumped and ready to work Terrell Tim Hardy wrote: Most EMS training facilities are not providing an EVOC class due to insurance and liability issues.
