Job Descriptions: Position Title: PARAMEDIC Department: Field MICU Operations Reports to: Field Supervisor / Operations Manager SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS: • Current Paramedic in the State of Texas at the time of appointment. • Current ACLS, BCLS, BTLS, PALS certification required. • Valid Texas Driver's license required. • Experience operating an emergency vehicle a plus, a clean driving record mandatory. • Pre-hospital experience preferred. • Knowledge of medical policies, procedures and the Speedway EMS Standard of Care. • Must possess excellent written and verbal skills. • Self starter requiring little oversight. • Experience in a high performance ALS system beneficial. • Experience in EMS and public education; field or classroom based desired. • Must be adaptable to change and able to function in a team based management structure. PHYSICAL EFFORT/WORKING CONDITIONS: This position will require mostly field work; staffing and riding in an ambulance. Will be required to perform under adverse working conditions. The employee is required to lift over 125 pounds as many as 20 times daily. Must be able to walk, stoop, climb, twist, bend, run, sit, squat, kneel, and work in awkward positions when moving patients from all types of locations and within the ambulance. Must wear special uniform, and protective clothing for all weather situations and air borne, and blood and body fluid exposure. Hazards include being in an ambulance running red lights and siren, dealing with confused and agitated patients, exposure to adverse conditions and trauma scenes, exposure to unknown diseases and working in a restricted area. SPECIAL HIGH RISK POSITIONS INCLUDE: Working on an active Motorsport Racing Surface involving NASCAR/IRL and other sanctioning bodies, with exposure to high speed motor vehicles and flammable materials. Perhaps he's difficult to work for because he has aggressive protocols which require the strictest of standards. For those who are qualified to meet that challenge, I understand him to be easy to work for. He has successfully ran the EMS for TMS foe many years and is successful in other areas of EMS as well. Let's not forget that he was a field medic before he was an EE doc, so unlike most doctors, he truely understands the ems field. Most of all, he is business smart and financially secure. Less than 5 year field experience EMT- $10.00 per hour Paramedic $15.00 per hour 5 years and above field experience EMT- $11.00 per hour Paramedic- $16.00 per hour If you are interested please attend the information session that will be held on July 30, 2008 at Texas Motor Speedway. To maintain the ambulance by performing extensive check at the start of each shift.
