Toni,

Will home made whey milks also have most of the caseins out? or only whey protein isolates are CF?

Thanks,

Navina

I have given lysine in 500mg doses. The tablets were pretty big so I broke them down into capsules. They do make a powder too... anyway, I have moved away from using lysine. :-)The aminos I use routinely are carnitine and carnosine. I also use GABA which is sometimes considered an amino acid and also taurine. Carnitine and Carnosine are the only aminos I can think of that I give everyday.I do try to make sure they get a decent amt of protein though. I use Mix1 protein drinks from Publix. They are whey-derived but are low enough in casein to be called "casein-free."

You guys, what amino acids are you giving and what are the negatives or *backfiring* you mention to look for, and what then do you do? I think our 4.5 ds asd/adhd is responding beautifully to lysine, but some times its out of the blue defiance, aggression......and I really don't know how much is not safe! Any thoughts on anything, and thank you!!Alisabeth-- Toni------Mind like a steel trap...Rusty and illegal in 37 states.

I have no clue :-)I have never tried ~ I am not a home-make-r of food. :-)I am pretty much about convenience and when I cook whole foods, they are boring (steak in a cast iron skillet, boiled broccoli on the side. that's my speed.)
