i know some had prob...but i did not...in Pa you have to be off work for 5moths...and i got it...at the 5 moth mark...Herb got his the same way...i do know that debbie h (cos ) had a very hard time getting her ssi & ssd...but after she was told about the ms ...she got it and the back pay also...i wish you the best>>.debbi brantSubject: Social Security disabilityTo: MSersLife Date: Monday, July 12, 2010, 8:16 PM

If I may ask a

personal question. Can anyone tell me about their personal experiences

with applying for social security disability? I have contacted our local

congressman and they have had it flagged that they are watching it. I am

in the process of obtaining all medical records. was a long haul

truck driver and now with insulin he cannot, by federal law, drive a truck

anymore. He has had the same type of job for 22 years. He now has

the MS and the cervical spinal stenosis. Even on just the insulin dependent

issue since it’s not allowed by federal law should be a huge help.

            I

know about the five month period too.  I am getting medical records from when

he had his first flare, in October 08.  We didn’t know it was a flare up of the

MS at the time.  Plus a few months ago he was to see his GP and had urinary

issues that were MS related and we didn’t know.  So, I’m trying to prove he did

have symptoms before this five month waiting period.  Thanks for sharing your

story.
