Well that place won't work, it has one bedroom, not two (the second "bedroom" is a sitting room with a futon. Not going to work for a tween-aged boy!) And I don't think my chair would fit through the door! It would be a perfect place for one person, though, but I am not one, I am a package deal.

However, that said, on the way out there was a sign that said 3 Br/2 ba rent $600. So I took the number and just called, they are very nice, they will be out in a couple of days to take me to look at it. It isn't at the time handicapped available but they were planning on adding a small porch to the front and said that making it with a ramp would be no problem, so while at first the chair would be inside, after they finish that, I'd be able to pop out in my chair. I think the place is pretty much like what I have now, only cheaper, but then again it is only partially furnished and doesn't include everything like here. Factor in the bills and it would be on par with what I pay here, so I know I can afford it. I will still look but they seem nice and are willing to work with me (break the deposit up into payments and such) so there is hope...

Sorry to hear about the first place but in a pinch you would be surprised what you can do. Two of the grandkids will be starting college in a few weeks and they told the parents even though the dorm rooms look small, you would be surprised at what the kids can fit in them. Who knows it just might work if nothing else is available. Don't you get money off on disabled apts? I know my Aunt is in an apt complex and its run by HUD and she only pays $217 for a brand new apt.
