Guest guest
Hi everyone, Our dan prescribed nystatin for my son for yeast as he cannot take diflucan at this time because of some blood work abnormality. How many of you noticed improvement with Nystatin? Was there any die off? How long did you continue Nystatin? Is there any supplement that I should definitely have on board with nystatin. My son is already on multivitamins, coq10, culturelle, P5p, methylfolate, mb12 shots, epa/dha,vit D, ca/mg. Should I make any changes in probiotics? Thanks is
Guest guest
Thanks Channa! You are always helping other parents on the forum and God will bless you and your kid. I will receive nystatin tomorrow and will start on saturday. I agree with you regarding naturals as my son has tried both grape seed extract, oil of oregano, paud'arco on a 4 day rotation and his gut actually got worse. Hopefully, we will receive some benefits from nystatin. is > > > > > > im sure others will chime in but i did nystatin long time ago with no improvement..there for one was sugar in it..and it deals with only gut yeast and my sons yeast was systemic. > > > have you tried naturals? i had good luck with oil of oregano..grapefriutseed extract...pau d arco one of my favs. > > > oh yah and something about leaky gut can cause some issue with nystatin. > > > but every kid is diffrent so maybe it will work good for you. > > > > > > From: alexis_d3378 <alexis_d3378@> > > > To: mb12valtrex > > > Sent: Wednesday, September 21, 2011 9:53 PM > > > Subject: Nystatin for yeast > > > > > > > > >  > > > Hi everyone, > > > Our dan prescribed nystatin for my son for yeast as he cannot take diflucan at this time because of some blood work abnormality. Guest guest
Hi is – We didn’t have any abnormal blood work but my son had really high yeast markers in his OAT test. one was 5x’s the high limit. My understanding from our DAN is that yeast can take a long time to get rid of and the antifungals that enter the bloodstream and are processed by the liver can be hard on the body and not good for long term. Nystatin doesn’t enter the blood stream and is safer for long term usage. I don’t know that much about Nizoral. Harry’s (almost 5 and 50 pounds) dosage is 100mg (1/2 tablet) once daily. On SCD we’re still casein free but make cashew or coconut yogurt, although not very successfully but haven’t tried that hard either. The starter we used was GI ProStart and I think custom probiotics has a casein free yogurt starter. With cashew yogurt, you don’t need a starter. Just grind 1 cup raw cashews, add 1 cup water and blend until the consistency of heavy cream. Cover with a light towel and place in a warm place. When it has formed a thick curd with a layer of liquid on the bottom, cover and transfer to your fridge and chill for at least one hour. At 70 degrees, it takes about 20 hours but less if warmer. If you think about SCD, check out some of the paleo diet cookbooks. Most of the SCD cookbooks do have dairy in them. Cheers, Mardi
