Guest guest
After 22 years, Dr. Gordon will retire from the UT Health Science Center effective August 31, 2008. Dr. Gordon has served as a faculty member and medical director of San Fire Department and has been the face of EMS care in San , Leon Valley, Bexar County, and South Texas for many years. Dr. Gordon's impact extends internationally through his work with the American Red Cross and the American Heart Association. His leadership and dedication to prehospital care and education has created a legacy of permanence and pride. There are literally thousands of patients who are alive or enjoy a higher standard of living because of the innovations and standards that Dr. Gordon facilitated for EMS in San . Few health care practitioners can ever hope to have such a lasting impact on patients and students. Dr. Gordon is graciously assisting the Department of Emergency Health Sciences in the search for his replacement as San Fire Department Medical Director and has agreed to assist in this transition. A reception honoring Dr. Gordon's service will be announced soon. In the meantime, join me in congratulating Dr. Gordon for his years of faithful service as he enters, deservedly, retirement from the UT Health Science Center and prepares for new opportunities...most likely without a radio, cell phone, or pager at his side. With sincere appreciation, Lance Villers Lance Villers, PhD, LP Assistant Professor & Chair, Department of Emergency Health Sciences The University of Texas Health Science Center at San 7703 Floyd Curl Dr. San , TX 78229-3900
