Guest guest
SITUATION (2300CDT08032008) TS Edouard Continues it's westerly track at 4-6 mph with sustained winds of 45-50kts. The NHC has upgraded the watch and warning status for the Upper Texas Coast from a Tropical Storm Watch to a Hurricane Watch. This anticipates a strengthening in wind speed to a Cat. 1 (Saffir-Simpson scale) Hurricane within 36 hours. MY ANALYSIS There is little change in the storm since my earlier report. There is some model movement indicating a landfall near Freeport - Brazoria County. There should be little difference in wind and rainfall for the HOU-GAL area. Tomorrow will be significant in terms of strengthening and potential threat to life and property. RECOMMENDATION Continue preparations and monitoring of NWS and local EM reports. All preparations should be completed by nightfall on Monday. Interests in West Galveston Island and low-lying Galveston and Counties should follow recommendations of their local EM officials for potential evacuation. Be aware, be prepared, be safe.
