I would try some motrin and epsom baths. Give her her favorite things, tyr to create a peaceful environment for her. Keep stressors as low as you can until she's feeling better. Good luck! -TammyTo:

Dear all,

I finally started valtrex on my daughter (nearly 8 years old with moderate autism). The dosage is 500 mg twice a day. she is also taking ketoconazole 75 mg once a day and GSE twice a day. dr Bock is our DAN.

She's been on valtrex for 18 days and she has been hitting her head a lot and screaming 'eeeee' while hitting her legs one to the other and throwing things at her sight. sometimes she hit me and scratched me also. i figured that she had headache as she liked it when I message her head. Oh, the sleep pattern was disrupted also, ahe slept very late at night and woke up after 6 hrs of sleep (slept at 11 am and woke up at 5am).

I am very concern mostly with the pain, eventhough it seemed gone after like 15 min. this usually happened in the afternoon between 3 to 5 pm and night 9 to 10 pm. I gave valtrex morning (9 to 10 am) and evening at 8 pm.

I gave her ibuprofen 10 ml last night and it seemed helping her to sleep better.

I did not see any rashes but I do feel she is more "here" with us.

My Doc said that we just need to go through this but it is really hard for me knowing her in pain...yesterday she has an episode of cryng with tears suddenly and it was on off for 2 hrs before she calmed down.

sorry for such a long post..I can deal with tantrum die off but not when she is in pain. I gave her charcoal but it made her constipated.

appreciate your thoughts and suggestion..shall i just keep going and give her ibuprofen ?

Thanks in advance,

tetty
