Guest guest
We do both forms. ALCAR is better for fats. L-carnitine is better for carbs and building muscle tone. ALCAR crosses the brain barrier (because it's more used for fats) while L-carnitine does not. Both help mito functions. Hello,My son has poor muscle tone and gets very tired all the time. The DAN doc prescribed L Carnetine. Is there a difference between L Carnetine and Acetyl L Carnetine?Which one should I choose? The pharmacy gave me a generic brand loaded with red dye and it's called " levocarnitine " . Do you know if there is a dye free version? Thanks.

Guest guest
Encourages mito activity in brain cells. Fats metabolism in the brain = fats that are absorbed being used to make brain cells for brain development. What are the benefits of it " crossing the brain " ? Guest guest
Very nasty taste is right. Even my little trooper had a hard time with powder acetyl-l carnitine. Just taking a whiff of it feels like it is burning a hole through your nose. So, we switched to the prescription version. The liquid is clear. The bottle is red so it makes you think the liquid inside is red, too, but it's not. The bottle says " Carnitor sf 1 gm/10ml solution, 118ml " . > > > > Hello, > > > > My son has poor muscle tone and gets very tired all the time. > > > > > > The DAN doc prescribed L Carnetine. > > > > Is there a difference between L Carnetine and Acetyl L Carnetine? > > Which one should I choose? > > > > The pharmacy gave me a generic brand loaded with red dye and it's called " levocarnitine " . Guest guest
Hmmmmm....I wonder how vitamin A from fish oil/ALCAR would work given routinely at the same time together.... Tammy Sent from my Kindle Fire
Guest guest
Been doing that for a few weeks now and it's been going great (I'm going through a bit of a Vit B crisis right now, tho) but things were going really spiffy when I made it a point to give ALCAR with our EFAs (plus Vits A and D and astaxanthin). Hmmmmm....I wonder how vitamin A from fish oil/ALCAR would work given routinely at the same time together.... Guest guest
Alberta, I started my son on ubiquinol a few weeks ago and really want to add carniyine as well. But currently I am dealing with stimming and hyperactivity and I have heard that acetyl l carnitine can cause hyperactivity. I forgot if u already mentioned whether u checked the carnitine and coq10 levels before starting supps or not. I am trying to get my pediatrician to order the blood work recommended at mitoaction.org and once the blood is drawn, I will add l or acetylcarnitine. Let me know if u think one shouls stay away from carnitines if yeast/ hyperactivity or stimming is a major issue. Thx is > > > ** > > > > Hmmmmm....I wonder how vitamin A from fish oil/ALCAR would work given > > routinely at the same time together.... > > > > Tammy > > Sent from my Kindle Fire > > > > >
