Guest guest
nne, I also have electric shock sensations. Sometimes, it's like a zap and other times, I feel as though I have an electrical current going through my arms or legs. I have not heard about a connection between MS and Fibro. But, I have heard that Fibro has neurological component. Back in 2009, I had contacted the assistant editor of the Fibromyalgia Network about this very thing because a neurologist that I had been sent to on consult told me that I did not have MS. He thought I was just out of shape. He told me that I should be able to walk 3 miles in 30 minutes. Even when I was able to walk 3-6 miles every day, it still took me an hour to walk 3 miles. Anyway, I found the email that I received from the assistant editor and have copied part of it below. Donna in WA Most of the research findings in fibromyalgia point to a malfunctioning of the central nervous system (CNS), which includes the brain and spinal cord. Yet, there appear to be a variety of abnormalities occurring in the peripheral soft tissues (muscles and connective tissue) and the peripheral nervous system that communicates with the CNS. This dysfunctional interplay between the CNS and peripheral systems is believed by most investigators to be the source of the many body-wide symptoms. In a way, fibromyalgia could be considered a disease of the CNS. Guest guest
My neuro said they go hand in hand. I have both. As far as the electric shocks, I have those too and my neuro said those were Le'Hermittes syndrome. Yet another irritating hand in hand to along with the MS and Fibro.
