I was born in Detroit, Michigan--very high humidity andrelatively high heat--all summer long--even at camp.I love cool to cold DRY weather--so I used to ski andsnowboard. However, for most of us wMS, this is definitely not an option--and in the Southwest, usually not an option in summer. My mother used to fill me up with iced tea--helped a bit.Love and compassion to you all,nFrom: Anne Whitworth

I know how bad the humidity is and I feel for anyone dealing with it. I spent awhile with my uncle in Georgia when I was 14 and I thought I was gonna DIE! lol But I have to say when it's 115+ for days/weeks on end... well that's pretty hard to deal with too;)

We lived, or I did, outside of Detroit until I was nearly ten.My school was several miles away--no buses then. So,usually we walked to school. When it snowed, the roads were plowed and we often could walk to school; otherwise,we did cross-country skiing. If there was solid ice on top ofthe snow or the road, we ice-skated to school, using skatesmore or less like modern hockey skates. Then we moved to the L.A. Basin near Los Angeles, nearthe beach--we were at the beach every day; so, I learnedto surf and to body surf--my mother had made certain thatwe each learned to swim--and well--as she had been terrifiedof the water--my father used to say that watching our motherswim side-stroke made it appear that her main attempt wasto keep as much

of her OUT of the water as possible. Then we moved to Portland, Oregon and lived on a lake,Lake Oswego; I was in ecstacy, and discovered the joysof downhill skiing on Mt. Hood, about 70 miles outside ofPortland.I went to college and began graduate school in Portland, met my husband-to-be---whose main aim in life was to moveto Berkeley, California, which we did. I still live about 75yards immediately south of Berkeley just above the S.F.Bay.I could take up a lot ot space here describing all the athleticactivities I got into--including fishing, boating--all of it.In part because I have Cystic Fibrosis (We do not all dropdead before 25, though sadly, many do.), and in part becauseI developed MS while living in humid Portland--nice muggysummers--I just have no tolerance for either heat or humidity--but I would choose cold and rain over muggy any day.I think that the

hottest cities that I, myself have experiencedhave been New York City and Chicago, though now LosAngeles (along with the rest of the planet) is far warmer thanit was when I lived there.Love to you, Kate, and to all of you,nP.S. I now have severe peripheral neuropathy from myfeet to above my knees, so am no longer doing athleticthings--just watching what I eat--very carefully! Hi KimThe heat really does affect us MSers, doesn't it? And our families and friends just don't understand that usually. The last time I looked at the thermometer it was 97 here. I am dyin'! But we have clouds building and will hopefully get a nice monsoon storm out of it. So you have a vegetable garden? What do you grow in it? We have a huge garden that is just starting to produce. We ate swiss chard a couple of days ago and have been getting spinach and chives. We had late cold weather and couldn't plant until Memorial Day and later. I've only been able to work in the garden twice so far and that was to do a little bit of weeding. hugs SharonThis email is a natural hand made product.

I spent awhile with my uncle in Georgia when I was 14 and I thought I was gonna DIE! lol But I have to say when it's 115+ for days/weeks on end... well that's pretty hard to deal with too;)

it's not so much the heat - it is the humidity that hits you like a wall - it was worse in St Louis - but then I was 6 blocks north of the Missouri River

LizAre you in Texas? I'll bet the heat plays a big part in your fatigue. What do you do to stay cool? I used to live in Phoenix so I "get" the heat. Oh, man, I SO get the heat! lol

I take Mycellized D, B Complex, Magnesium, IH ONE, Omega, Adrenal Support and Tyrosine. I also take Copaxone which has well controlled my inflammations. I can't figure out if my current step up in fatigue is a result of heat, latest round of steroids, stress, or one of a thousand other reasons. It's probably a combo of all of them. So I will just continue to try and make adjustments in lifestyle, and get some extra rest (apparently 9 hours a night and a lie

down in the

afternoon isn't enough). Thanks for all your support. I often feel like other people just think I'm lazy and whiny for constantly feeling too tired to do things.
