bacteria,fungi,and viruses

I just read a thought-provoking essay theorizing that bacteria, fungi and viruses might actually be the same thing - and it changes form according to what's going on in its enviornment. Accroding to the author, Pasteur later came to believe this theory, as well. This was posted on another yahoo group and I don't feel comfortable asking to share.
