September 17th from 9a-5p there will be a conference at the Cedar Hill

Recreation Center. The conference is free to attend and includes

lunch and 5 hours of CE/CEU's for nurses and paramedics. The

conference is open to nurses, EMT/Paramedics, and Physicians. The

conference will cover information on the current comprehensive

treatments for stroke and will include a presentation by each of the

four comprehensive capable facilities in the DFW area. Each facility

will give information on their stroke protocol and processes. For

EMS, this information will be important to help establish expectations

from the stroke centers and for the stroke centers. Ultimately, the

goal is to get the patient to the most appropriate facility weather

that is a comprehensive capable facility or another stoke center.

What to expect: Dr. Graybeal, from Baylor Dallas, will cover current

and emerging trends in stroke therapy. He will explain the

procedures, indications/contraindications and inclusion/exclusion

criteria. Following his lecture, each facility will have 1hr to talk

about their stroke program, give case presentations and show stats on

their facility's outcomes. Following each presentation, there will be

a 20min Q & A session. All four comprehensive capable facilities will

participate: Parkland Memorial, Baylor Dallas, Methodist Fort

Worth, and Plaza Medical/HCA Fort Worth.

I will try to figure out how to attach a registration form, otherwise,

please email me or call me with any questions.

Thanks,

, CFRN, FP-C
