Guest guest
Greetings , Look through the archives - about a week ago a gentleman reported on how he had found nearly everything necessary to do this diet in the Bay Area. I can't find it at the moment but it's there. In my opinion, the best things to start with are those that really excite you. If that's soaked pancakes, great - if it's fermentations, great - if it's crispy nuts that's fun too. Do things to hook your subconscious on the idea that this is yummy satisfying, fun food - and don't go too fast or you will burn out. " The slower you go the faster you get there " is often true here. There are a bunch of us in the Bay Area, and there will be some major, fun WAPF chapter meetings coming up in Marin that we are going to open to the whole Bay Area. Will keep people posted. We are also looking for new chapter leaders for Marin within the next 3-6 months to take over and run with this area, by the way, as we will be moving. Guest guest
Thanks , I found the post you mentioned. A bunch of you are up in Marin?? That is sooooo far away )))) The lot of you should move to the PA/MP area, LOL I'm off to Whole Foods to see if they carry raw milk.

Hi , Lots of Bay Area people here. What town/county are you in? You can get Organic Pastures raw milk at Whole Foods. They also have some raw cheeses. Wild salmon season has started so look for out for it at stores and farmers markets. As for pasture fed beef, it's available fresh at the Berkeley Bowl, maybe other places too. You can also buy local pasture fed beef at these sites: http://www.marinsunfarms.com/ or http://www.morrisgrassfed.com/ Both offer bulk purchases but marinsun also sells in smaller quantities 10-20lbs. Wild Oats in Berkeley sells raw sauerkraut. Organic veggies are available just about everywhere. The only thing I've had a problem finding is raw butter, but maybe someone else in the Bay Area has a source for that. __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Hi Judith, Thanks for the links. I am in Menlo Park - so Berkeley would be quite a drive to get beef, LOL. There is a Whole Foods in Palo Alto so hopefully I will be able to find most of what I need there. Unfortunately I have noticed that the meat at Whole Foods is sometimes poor in quality - the frozen meat is fine - but I guess they don't have a high enough turn-over in the meat section so the beef is not very fresh.
