Guest guest
The surgery restored " complete " vision (got rid of the blind spot, etc) but the scleral band elongates the eyeball and makes you even more nearsighted - I'm almost to the point of legal blindness in that eye, but I CAN see and it works pretty much normally. I think the band also weakens the muscles a little, so if I get really tired that eye kinda goes off on its own... :-) All in all, though, without the surgery I would have lost sight entirely in that eye within another couple of days, and any sight is better than none! in WY Practical Blackwork Designs " You get a wonderful view from the point of no return... She was using the meat slicer when...yup...ugh, she cut a chunk of skin off! I'm someone who does NOT do well with icky stuff, so I'm trying to be brave for her, but she is being VERY stubborn and not letting me take her to the ER. It is taking a long time to stop bleeding. We are applying pressure, and she has it raised above her heart. I ran out to CVS and bought gauze and tape and we have it wrapped real tight. I have been feeling nauseous and dizzy now for about a half hour. I don't want to make this about me, 'cause it is her I'm worried about, I'm just concerned that I'm going to pass out about it. Even thinking about it makes me woozy. I'm worried about her, but she's digging her heels and refusing to go. love and blessings, Kate ------------------------------------
