Re: Speaking of B Vitamins - - help with chelating???

So I recently got my daughter's complete medical record in hand after years of

trying (long distance, we have moved a lot), and sure enough, an early lead test

she had at 6 months showed a lead level of 3. I cried and cried. The doctor we

were seeing at the time told me the test came back with 'no lead'. I am guessing

they meant no lead poisoning, which would be a level of 10.

I tell you, the one thing that terrifies me is chelating. Mia always reacts

negatively to naturally chelating foods. When she is on aciclovir she chelates

naturally as well, and what looks like metals show up in her poop.

Can anyone help to hold my hand through an explanation of using supplements to

chelate?

MANY THANKS,

sooooo frustrating.  I might try one more time in a week or two because he

Well, we did chelate with traditional DAN chelation (two rounds DMSA

suppositories and 1 round DMSA oral.) I know many people advise against it, but

it did work well for my son. My older son also chelated 2 rounds DMSA

suppository, which also worked terrific for him. We saw A LOT of lead come out

and also mercury.

Anyway, what I wanted to share with you as another option is Iodoral. Whenever

my youngest son chelates, we can actually SMELL the metal coming out of him

through his sweat, particluarly at the back of his head and neck. Every night

while chelating when we checked him before we went to bed, he would be sweaty

and REEK of metal.

Ten months ago, while not chelating, his doctor added Iodoral to his protocol.

I immediately noticed that he started smelling like metal at night. One day I

forgot to give him the Iodoral and he didn't smell like metal. So I did some

research and found that Iodine IS effective at chelation. Here is a sample

article: http://www.alkalizeforhealth.net/Liodine2.htm

The first three months my son was on Iodoral, he smelled like metal every night.

Then the metal smell started tapering off.

So, you would need to do your own research to decide if you want to supplement

with Iodoral. We have seen very good things with it.

Garlic is a natural chelator, I have heard several reports of good

results with either garlic alone or garlic+parsley

Thanks thanks thanks everyone, I am really excited with what everyone has to

say. Of course I have the usual nausea that comes with information overload, but

I am trying to gulp air so it will pass. Of note, we are adding in chlorella (in

kombucha) parsley (from the garden), and iodine (through an Old Fashioned Spices

syrup, but I am fascinated with the iodoral and iodine gains in general, this

just rings true as an issue for us- considering related thyroid issues as well)

slowly. Hmmm. Many thanks for all of these posts and the details, they help so

much in the detective work.

THANKS!!!

Channa (or anyone else on here),

I would like to join the recoveryfromautism group. Would I be able to list you

as my referral for the group?

I'm interested b/c ds's Toxic Metals test (hair) came back today..lots of

arsenic and uranium, but barely a trace of mercury...I'm suspicious. :^/ He

also has a messed up ratio of too much zinc (although we aren't supplementing!)

and too little copper. So we may be looking at going into AC, once we get his

gut a little more in order.

Thank you!

Hi ,

When I first started they told me 9 out of 10 kids are

nonexcreters of mercury, and that you won't see it in their

hair test if they are indeed a nonexcreter. Mercury throws off

some of the other minerals in the kids, and there is a thing

called the " counting rule " that you can use to figure out if

they are holding mercury even if you can't see it in the value

of the hair test. (This might actually be Andy Cutler's rule,

I can't remember exactly, it's been a really long time) but the rule only works

with the hair test from one particular lab. You might find it explained

somewhere in the archives here I'm not sure--

otherwise you can find it on the generationrescue.org site

I think, under hair test. My ds was extremely high in arsenic also.

They told me garlic was the best chelator of arsenic.

Hmm. Thanks . That is helpful. I was exposed to arsenic while doing bone

work on historic remains in college- had many signs of arsenic poisoning. This

was only about 4 years before having MIa. Has always been on my mind. Garlic

seems to really get my stomach. Maybe I need to add the coconut cream someone

suggested (and chlorella?) to bind it? Sounds like a yukky shake :).

We have high zinc too. What metals test did you use? I would like to do one

without a Dr because we still haven't found one locally (moved a few months

ago).

We did the one from Great Plains Lab. Our DAN ordered it. I don't know if you

can get it from GPL w/out a Dr's order...worse they can do is say no!

The results are really troubling...my hubby is an electrical engineer and works

w/gallium arsenide in the components he uses. Soldering stuff, too.

My son's mercury level came out as " <0.03 " in a normal of <0.4. This with the

copper and zinc thing really makes me think Mercury. I did Andy Cutler's

counting protocol, and it's a maybe...not clear either way.
