Fort , Ky is 101st Airborne - my cousin's son went to Mosul in 2003 - they fly in with all their toys and fly out - a lot easier than the 3 - 4 day trek in convoy our MLRS guys from here had to do to Kuwait to load into the ships to come home God, grant me the strength of eagles wings, the faith and courage to fly to new heights, and the wisdom to rely on his spirit to carry me there.

for those that do not know I grew up as an Army brat - I married army twice - my older son was an active reservist in the first Gulf War and my youngest ... he got out of ROTC on a medical - he would be rotating in and out of the sandbox

my last job just before I got diagnosed with MS and fibro was doing the Red Cross messages for the troops

if you need to vent - I will listen

I still know the requirements for the messages

the units going over have a Family Readiness Group - my sister was a big help to hers in 2003

all i can rem is KY, some of the others went 2 weeks ago, i was just happy i got to see him before he went over, his baby bro Tommy was there he is marine beani is army, there is just the 2 kids, and they went/ going..Tommy was there for his 19 , 20 , 21 bday he is out now , Beani has been in 10 yrs he is 29

fort sill is Field Artillery, Air Defense Artillery, and MLRS - they do a lot of training here too

My sister 's son is at Fort Hood, Tx - he is in tanks - Fort Hood is the other half of Fort Sill

Fort Benning is army too - just can't remember what is down there

with the joint commands there are other services on most bases - since 1970 - 1971 we have had Marines on base - I don't think we have navy except for the recruiters

with the base realignments Air Defense Artillery came up from Texas in the last two years

Fort Sill was here before 1906 = after the civil war
