The DAN doc I was using prior to knew about PANDAS but definetly did not treat it as aggressively as . My son was a complete psycho mess.....very self injurious and miserable. put him on a very high dose of antibiotics and very high dose of steroids. We also had to move on to IVIG with . I'm still trying to figure things out. Do you know if dr. Kurt woeller treats pandas? Thanks! -- Sent from my Palm Pre I do not know if Dr Megson knows about PANDAS or how she treats it. Keep in mind that over 50% of the kids with PANDAS symptoms do NOT have high titers. I can tell you that few doctors treat for PANDAS based on symtpoms alone. Most docs frequire high titers before they will treat. does treat based on symptoms and he will treat aggressively if necessary. also looks to rule out other causes as well that can cause Pandas symptoms.......like various other bacterias, lyme. He is very thorough, nice and knowledgeable. Only bummer about is he does not take insurance but he will code everything so you'll get paid back but at the out of network reate. You need to see him in person once a year but then you can do phone consults for 10 to 15 minutes . His hourly rate is $320 but when you do a phone consult he only charges for the minutes used which is usually 5 to 15 minutes. He is in CT. RuthSent from my iPhone is a PA in Edison NJ......he is excellent for both autism and PANDAS. He is on the pandas medical advisory board. There is also Dr Dan Rossignol in Florida and he is also on the pandas medical advisory board. can be reached at ....... may only be a PA but he is the best DAN doc I have been to. We travel 4 hours each way to see him and he is worth it.......very knowledgeable and nice. We live on the Eastern Coast. Does anyone know of a great DOC we can see to treat PANDAS? Thanks! ANG To: mb12valtrex Sent: Sunday, February 19, 2012 1:30 PMSubject: Re: CHEWING CHEWING CHEWING! - , What is the treatment for PANDAS. Is there any natural antibiotic for this. My sons stuttering starts only after cough starts. 2 weeks back my hub and me both had throat pain and both took antibiotics for it. I noticed that my sons cough also increased and so did his stammering. I'm thinking it could be streps and someone mentioned if I dont treat this its going to become PANDAS. I'm thinking whether I should start augumentin. Yesterday we took him to his pediatrician who checked his throat and chest, and said there was no redness in the throat and chest is clear, so he wouldnt write a script for antibiotics. Is there any natural medicine to treat this? Any other advice? Thanks, Navina > > > > > > > > >The chewing and shaking his head (tic) SCREAMS PANDAS!!! Go to www.pandasnetwork.org for info. You need to find a PANDAS specialist right away. If not treated it gets worse and worse. Keep in mind 50% of PANDAS kids do NOT have high ASO/DNASE titers. What state are you in so we can recommend a pandas doc for you. > > > > > > > > > >To: mb12valtrex > >Sent: Saturday, February 18, 2012 5:40 PM > >Subject: CHEWING CHEWING CHEWING! We went through this before and a couple times it went away with extra Zinc or Parasite protocol. This time I knew the yeasties were back (cause I got lazy with his Lamisil) and after several large dumps AND zinc AND black Walnut & wormwood complex...he's still chewing. He's actually tearing threads in his sleeve cuffs to create holes. And he's doing this head thing where it looks like he's gently shaking his head "no". ADVICE????
