Guest guest
I took first dose Wed. and was so dizzy. Also had some weirder tingling in my legs plus headache. Pharmacist said to document what was happening. He didn't think the Ampyra would cause extra tingling. Since we are going on a road trip this weekend, I decided to wait until Mon. to really start the pill-just being cautious I guess. I sure don't want the UTI thing-once this spring was enough!! Poor Amy! Will keep you posted, and I appreciate your feedback!Kathy
Guest guest
Where are you going on your road trip? As far as having the tingles--MS is a strange thing and you know that any stresses (like starting a new med) can cause tingles, and weird "symptoms".Good luck with all of this:) SharonThis email is a natural hand made product. Guest guest
I love Ampyra. One of the side effects is UTI. There are many but this is one of them. You can call their nurses and they will tell you. I got a super bad case of trigeminal neuralgia has taken a couple mo to get manageable. But... when I was taking it faithfully, I was great. Like speed almost. Had so much energy and actually did too much. Was able to ride a bike after all these years, the spacisity was not there. but... I was told to triple my depakote and take ampyra just once a day. Well, I wont go into it but really what is the purpose of that? So........ I will start back on it soon. I just called the Dr as the weight gain from Depakote is totally depressing and totally unacceptable. I am eating like a bird, healthy, and very active compared to winter. So... she has just changed me to Topamax a migraine med of sorts. I will start that soon. I have it just putting it off. I hate totally hate to take one med to compensate for another med side effect in essesnce that is what its all about. I was just fine with Copaxone and my Dr ordered the ampyra for me without me knowing even what it is... So......... my experience was yin/yang. Great for walking and energy.. it was for energy more for me. And yet... the neuralgia well no wonder they call trigeminal neuralgi the suicide disease... the pain is wicked. Havent been on the site for years. Was thinking of starting up aromatherapy soon and thought of all y'all. Wishing you all the best and stay cool heat index here in IA 115' today! whew!!! <3 marianne 2 <3 Iowa
Guest guest
Tingling, or paresthesia, is a common side effect of Fampridine and Ampyra. I get it all the time from taking this medication. But, the benefit (for me) outweighs this side effect. Dizziness and feeling off balance, is also a side effect of these medications. http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-paresthesia.htmDan U dao_nguu@...
