Yes! My (very young) sister in law had this! The cream was not working so they had to resort to some sort of cancer treatment cream or something??? I can find out exactly what that was for you. I've mentioned this here on this board before because prior to her mollescum, my SIL was delayed in many areas and required early intervention and an IEP. It could very well be coincidence, but about the time she finished that treatment, she rounded the corner. She's doing very well now in third grade in the top half of her class. Beautiful, bright, and a-ok!! -TammyTo: mb12valtrex Sent: Thursday, September 29, 2011 9:30 PMSubject: Mollescum?

Molluscum contagiosum is caused by a virus (molluscum contagiosum virus) that is part of the pox virus family, so it should be treated with antivirus protocols... Someone, the fit A protocol is for measles right? does it belong to the same family? sorry I'm not to knowledgeable or I just keep forgetting, the vit. a high dose is for 2 days only and then the maintenance of 10,000 to 25,000 after that. micelized...but the doctors would probably say to you that leave it and it will be gone anywhere from 9 months to 2 years, but I would treat it, as I'm doing

with our keratosis pillars, but that is another story :(Some even would treat MC with golden seal... be cautious with not letting your little one scratch or pinch as they spread because the virus is inside and it could be contagious to other members of the family.Just my 2 centsSashaTo: "mb12valtrex " <mb12valtrex >Sent: Thursday, September 29, 2011 9:59:20 PMSubject: Re: Mollescum?

WOW my son had this too when he was at his worst, before we knew or understood anything was wrong [Aspergers]. Does this virus have anything to do with autism? I've had 4 children before my son and had never heard of Mollescum before he contacted it. Just throwing that out there about a possible link...... His went away on their own when we changed diet and began natural supplements thru an ND. Blessings

I have two boys with autism and one without and my son who isn't autistic had mollescum. It took a long time to clear up and left little indents in his skin where the mollescum was.

Sasha, Thats exactly what dermatologists have said to me, they can freeze them as they appear.. But this is getting out of hand as they are spreading quite rapidly. Thank you for your suggestions, I'm trying to digest all this info from everyone and hopefully put an end to this MC.Thanks again

I didn't even know what mollescum was until I saw this thread.  Maia had this very scaly rash when she was about 4 to 6 months old and when I see some of the clusters of mollescum, they kind of looked like that.  I'd kind of classified her rash before as roseola but when I look at these mollescum rashes, they looked more like these mollescum rashes -- they were scaly and bumped and raised.  She had it head to toe, but not on the palms and soles.  When I did a quick google about what mollescum even was, it said that it was related to pox and I just did a " holy s**t! " because I've gotten chicken pox and shingles a number of times and I just can't become immune to pox viruses.  Could Maia have inherited this aspect of my immune system and then came into contact with the virus?  Interesting.

Maia's eventually went away on its own but I remember it took many months.  And then she had this persistent bit left over on the inside of her elbow (that I just assumed was eczema -- but now that I see these bumps, I question whether or not that thing on the inside of her elbow could have been mollescum because these pics of mollescum (not the ones with the much bigger bumps, but the ones with the tiny little bumps in clusters) look like the types of rashes that Maia got when she was a baby).  I have pics of her when she was a baby and most of it was eventually gone by the time she was 10 months old but the little tiny cluster on the inside of her elbow remained until she was over 3 years old (until after I removed soy completely from her diet).

I don't have any thoughts about how to treat -- other than to correct the immune system and allow it to suppress the virus.  I think things causing the immune system to be hyperactive definitely don't help.  I think this is probably something that your DAN can do something about, though.  I wished we would've seen a doctor who was knowledgeable about this at the time when my daughter initially had this.  Our GP at the time told us that it was a " heat rash " and did nothing about it and I was so naive and I believed him, even though the " heat rash " explanation really didn't sit well with me at the time.

Alberta, there isn't one person on this site that has got it "right" all the time. I was the worst mom ever when my son's Aspergers and sensory issues were first noticed. Never heard of any of this. I thought he was a defiant child. We don't know all the answers. Don't give up! My son had Mollescum and asthma and I never connected the dots to a weakend immune system. Diet change and healing can do wonders. Our 3rd year is upon us and NO ASTHMA, sensory issues and meltdowns down by 80 percent! Hang in there. Blessings
