Tingling, or paresthesia, is a common side effect of Fampridine and Ampyra. I get it all the time from taking this medication. But, the benefit (for me) outweighs this side effect. Dizziness and feeling off balance, is also a side effect of these medications.

I took first dose Wed. and was so dizzy. Also had some weirder tingling in my legs plus headache. Pharmacist said to document what was happening. He didn't think the Ampyra would cause extra tingling. Since we are going on a road trip this weekend, I decided to wait until Mon. to really start the pill-just being cautious I guess. I sure don't want the UTI thing-once this spring was enough!! Poor Amy! Will keep you posted, and I appreciate your feedback!Kathy

I'll also say, when I started taking Ampyra, it made me sleepy. However, after about a month and a half, it seems that side effect is subsiding. I mentioned this to an Aetna pharmacy nurse and she hadn't heard of it. And, it's not listed as a side effect. But, the sleepiness sure seems to be related to the Ampyra.Dan U dao_nguu@...
