Guest guest
Hi there!Well, we are facing yet another storm--this is our 3rd since Christmas. It is supposed to start tonight (Tues) and be quite heavy. It will continue snowing until sometime tomorrow evening. We are supposed to get anywhere from 8 to 12 inches or more. That's a lot for us. Schools will undoubtedly be closed tomorrow. My son has a hockey game that will also get canceled. My husband, who NEVER gets sick--maybe once or twice in 23 yrs, is pretty sick. I think he has bronchitis or pneumonia. Will he go to the doctor? NO. He has gone to a doctor only twice. He is being stubborn and I think he's plain stupid! Hopefully whatever it is, is not contagious. I don't want to join him...but of course, if I come down with something, I'll be sure to get to a doc. Hope everyone is staying safe and warm!love to all,Kate

Guest guest
Oh wow. Again, you need to come here...it is sunny and warm. And bring the family, I'll find room. Ok, so I know that is not possible, so just make sure you DON'T go out in it, DON'T slip! Sorry your hubby is pooky...I hope you don't get it. With MS I have found (and heard) that we are more disease-resistant (things like colds and flu especially) but when we DO get it, we get it worse and it lasts longer...your kids need you healthy, so make him sleep on the couch (unless you already have those separate beds?) and you take care of yourself! Remember...chicken soup... ~*~Hugs~*~ ~*~Akiba~*~ Pragmatic Visionary http://www.affiliates-natural-salt-lamps.com/pages/156.php -- another storm! Guest guest
Good Morning -- if it can be called that -- KateJust heard the township plow truck drop the plow down the street, and then eventually it came up past our house... which means that everyone on this side of the road will be digging out of their driveway to get to work this morning. Last time I saw the weather, yesterday, they were calling for 2-4 inches here, more in the mountain area, even more than that up Debbi's direction. This morning when I checked a Pittsburgh news channel's website I saw that the accumulation expected had changed, upped 3-6. Only one school had been canceled by 5 this morning, everyone else is running on a 2 hour delay. As for your hubby. If he won't go to the doctor, then I would highly suggest laying in some Robotussin DM (it has to have an expectorant in it, whichever brand you choose though). This will help to break up the congestion in the chest and get him "coughing it up"... And believe it or not, the old wives knowledge of mustard plasters DOES WORK.. I did that one year for as well, broke up the congestion right quick, and I didn't even have dry mustard in the house. I used French's yellow out of the fridge! and it still worked.. go figure!I sure hope it all bypasses you and the kids as well.. Take care, stay in and keep warm today.. HUGS|)onna another storm! Guest guest
if DM handles my fibro cough it will stop the cough God, grant me the strength of eagles wings, the faith and courage to fly to new heights, and the wisdom to rely on his spirit to carry me there. Guest guest
I'm just in from shoveling, Donna! Was out for about an hour and a half. We're done for the most part. My stubborn husband is out there. Says he feels much better than yesterday. I think he is tempting fate by going out so soon after he's been so ill. Thanks for the mustard plaster suggestion; will 'talk that up' to him.We have nearly a foot of snow.Time to shower and have a mug of cocoa.love you, KateFrom: |}onna To: MSersLife Sent: Wed, January 12, 2011 5:55:47 AMSubject: Re: another storm! Guest guest
Don't overdo it Kate. I just got home from 's today (I go for a dinner and end up staying 5 days). Anyway I came home to a nice surprise ... the neighbor snowplowed my driveway )). usually takes my garbage can out on Tuesday evening and (yes there is a nice next door) brings it up for me in the morning. I actually wish it would snow some more because then it wouldn't be so cold. But I couldn't believe how you all got dumped on! At least up here we're used to it and prepared for it ... hugs, Cait another storm! Hi there!Well, we are facing yet another storm--this is our 3rd since Christmas. Guest guest
I hope you didn't get too cold while you were out there Kate.. I'm still trying to figure out just how effective I would be, going out on the porch with my power chair, shovel in hand to get the snow off the porch & ramp so the puppies don't have to tread through it to go potty.. poor Zucco slipped on the ramp outside the door yesterday on his way in.. and they guys ( & Earl, my son).. don't see a problem with the snow on the porch.. Heck, I won't even let either of them get up and close up the hole in the soffitt or facia (whichever it is that's down) because he didn't get up and Fix it this summer BEFORE the squirrel started storing his winter food in my roof!.. and I won't allow him to take away the squirrels "winter home" since he's been counting on it all summer.. I know, I'm a tad bit whacky.. but I can't watch those SPCA commercials either, not without crying my eyes out.. ( actually has to mute the television or change the channel until it's over).. so I don't think I could live with the thought that the squirrel might be going hungry, or get cold, if we close the roof off to him now... I just really wish that I couldn't hear the squirrel building on the addition up there!.. LOL Warm HUGS |)onna I'm just in from shoveling, Donna! Was out for about an hour and a half.
