I'm sure most/all of you have heard about the terrible shootings in Tucson where Congresswoman Giffords was shot and 6 were killed by a deranged gunman? Yesterday we heard that the Westboro Baptist Church was planning to 'picket' at the funerals. Arizona is incensed! For those of you who don't know about the so-called church they come to the funerals of fallen soldiers and stand outside yelling horrible stuff like "God hates you", "God is glad you are dead"...etc. They also went to funeral. Anyway today the Arizona State Legislature passed an emergency bill providing a "Funeral Protection Zone". Governor Brewer immediately signed it into law! http://www.azcentral.com/news/election/azelections/articles/2011/01/11/20110111arizona-shootings-funeral-bill-passes.html SharonThis email is a natural hand made product. Guest guest
It will be interesting to see how far they get with their suit against the state... I don't remember a whole lot from the high school history and civics classes.. but I do believe there's a little blurb in there about it being "peaceful" demonstration or something.. There was nothing peaceful about what they were planning to do.. in fact they would have been inciting a riot I personally believe.. Too bad they couldn't have been casually "misdirected" in their efforts to protest.. and then arrested for trying to incite a riot.. would have been more than appropriate.. but that's only my soapbox opinion.. LOL And I'm with you on the being proud of your guys for doing what they did.. Cudos to them!!! HUGS |)onna..
