Guest guest
Sharon,You had Sciatica before your Dx? Is this common for us? Recently I've been experiencing what I think is something to do with the Sciatic Nerve. Thought it might be MonSter related, but then again thought it could be age related, the messed up knee (the sciatic pain is on the right too).. notice it most when sitting on the potty. For some reason my master bath toilet knows just where to apply pressure to cause pain. Sometimes I experience it sitting on the bed, playing on the laptop and sometimes I experience it while in my computer chair as well. Those two situations I can remedy by shifting position, unfortunately, there is not much choice with the toilet sitting <grin>.And RATS... means I have a NEW symptom to add to my myriad of Multiple Surprises.. and I guess I'm at the Uh DUH stage... Don't know why after all this time, I quit equating new pains to the MonSter, and just considered it the pangs of old age starting.. <grin>HUGS|)onna Re: NEW MEMBER -- Dear Sadness over the diagnosis sounds pretty normal to me. When I was first dxed I was happy to finally have a name for what was going on with my body but I was sad to have that dx. Sad and happy at the same time sounds pretty crazy, doesn't it? lol Your story sounds a lot like mine.... I had sciatica, fatigue, pain, "nerve" problems, etc. At least now you have a name for your symptoms, huh? Most people with MS live long, relatively healthy lives and still walk. That's the majority! Hang in there---you will be fine. I'm sure of it!hugs SharonThis email is a natural hand made product. Guest guest
Thanks Debbi, And I do believe that it was MonSter related.. cause I've not had that pain in a couple of days now.. Guest guest
Hmm.. that's interesting.. your doctor telling you were too young for sciatica.. I had a chiropractor tell me, when I was 16, that I already had a 60 year old back? Had a doctor tell me at 23 I was too young for a heart attack too.. but then again, having Rheumatic Fever at 18 was kind of unheard of.. but I had it then.. LOL.. Had the old meuron tell me my shoulder acting up was Arthritis.. but Advil didn't touch it in the least.. and it came and went all by itself.. Arthur wouldn't have gone away... he'd have stayed.. Chiro treated a lower back problem for a couple months, though nothing was misaligned.. it went away as quickly as it came as well.. Actually, fairly recently, the Chiro I see now, looked at me and told me that it was the MS causing the pain in my neck.. cause he couldn't find anything "really" out, and he couldn't get it to adjust either, no matter how much massaging or heat or electro or anything else he tried.. nothing work.. did ease some of the pain, but it continued until the MonSter was ready to give it up.. now he range of motion is back to where it normally was before that "attack".. And now, being as that pain just disappeared again, even when putting direct pressure on the spots that hurt before.. I suppose twas MonSter related.. Just wish that if my knee were MonSter related it would give it up too before I make the appointment with a knee doctor person.. only to have it clear up the DAY of the appointment.. Guest guest
my first ex had rheumatic fever as a teen - he was still supposed to be on meds - he forgot that minor problem and went into the army in the mid 60's God, grant me the strength of eagles wings, the faith and courage to fly to new heights, and the wisdom to rely on his spirit to carry me there.
